🧅 A Green Start: Exploring Roots and Planting Our Own Onions! 🌱
At Prime International School, our days are filled with creativity and collaboration! Today, our little learners dived into a wonderfully grounding, hands-on science and nature activity: Onion Planting and Growing. 🥳
We believe that the best way to learn is through hands-on experience and creative exploration.
During this exciting session, our students explored:
🌟 Nature & Gardening Science: Learning how plants grow from bulbs, discovering the role of roots, and understanding what living things need to survive-soil, water, and sunlight.
🌟 Patience & Nurturing: Learning to care for a living thing by watering it gently, fostering a deep sense of responsibility, empathy, and a strong connection to nature.
🌟 Fine Motor Development: Digging small planting holes, carefully positioning the onion bulbs, and gently patting the soil down, which strengthens small hand muscles and finger dexterity.
🌟 Sensory Exploration: Feeling the dry, papery texture of the onion skins, digging in the cool, damp earth, and experiencing the natural scents of the garden.
🌟 Following Directions: Listening closely to step-by-step gardening instructions on how deep to plant the bulbs and how to care for them daily, which builds excellent cognitive focus and patience.
🌟 Observational Skills: Preparing to track the daily changes as green shoots begin to sprout, turning a simple planting session into an ongoing science journey!
We are so proud of how our students are growing into creative thinkers, careful listeners, and confident little environmentalists! ❤️
