๐ฟ MINDFULNESS AT HOME & SCHOOL
At Elite International School, we believe that supporting children goes beyond academics. Their emotional well-being, self-awareness, resilience, relationships, and ability to manage everyday challenges are equally important.
We recently hosted a special session with Ven. Nandacara, a Buddhist monk, researcher, and author specializing in Buddhist Psychology, psychology, and counselling.
๐๏ธ About Our Speaker
Ven. Nandacara holds a Ph.D. in Buddhist Studies from the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, along with advanced qualifications in Psychology, Buddhist Counselling, and Buddhist Ayurvedic Counselling. He is also an International Affiliate Member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and a founding member of Thismoment Zone, where he provides mental health education and training.
๐ฑ A Practical & Inclusive Session
Although the speaker has an academic background in Buddhist Studies, the session was not a religious teaching or practice session.
Instead, the discussion explored mindfulness as a practical approach to:
โจ Understanding children better
โจ Supporting emotional well-being
โจ Developing patience and self-awareness
โจ Strengthening communication
โจ Creating a more mindful home and school environment
We are grateful to our parents, students and teachers for joining us in exploring how greater mindfulness among adults can contribute to the holistic development and well-being of our children.
When adults become more mindful, children are given more space to grow, connect, and thrive. ๐ฟ
