Our students, staff and parents came together today to celebrate Thingyan, Myanmar’s traditional Water Festival, at Water Boom Yangon.

A highlight of the day was the dancing and singing performances by both staff and students, setting the tone and bringing everyone together from the very start.

Students enjoyed water slides, games, and plenty of friendly water fun. There was also the chance to enjoy local food and experience the traditions behind Thingyan.

What stood out most was the sense of unity.
This is more than a day out. It is a shared experience that brings students and staff closer together.

Moments like this strengthen relationships and build a real sense of belonging across the Kings Yangon community.

Our Year 8 students stepped out of the classroom and into the Yangon Space Museum this week. They saw how physics and astronomy move beyond textbooks and into real applications.
• Interactive exhibits helped bring abstract ideas to life
• Students explored planetary systems and space science in more depth
• They asked sharp, thoughtful questions throughout the visit

What stood out was their focus.

They were not just observing. They were thinking, questioning, and making connections.

This is where learning starts to stick.

Back in the classroom, these experiences will shape their next lessons. You will see stronger discussions, better questions, and deeper understanding.

It is always good to see our students tested beyond the classroom and performing well on an international stage.

The results from the Singapore Math Global Finals 2026 reflect more than academic ability. They show consistency, focus and the willingness to keep working when the questions become more demanding.

At Kings Yangon, this is what we aim to develop. Progress comes from daily effort, clear teaching and students being prepared to think, make mistakes and improve.

We would like to recognise the following students for their achievements:
🏆 Shwe Wati Oo (Year 11)
Bronze | Global Rank: 25 | Country Rank: 1

🏆 Nyan Paing Ye Yint (Year 8)

𝑴𝒓 𝑫𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒚𝒍 – 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

We are pleased to welcome Mr Darryl to Kings Yangon as our new Head of Physical Education.

Mr Darryl brings over three decades of international experience in physical education and athletics. He has held leadership roles across a wide range of international schools in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and South America, including positions as Director of Athletics and Head of PE.

His career reflects both depth and consistency. He has led PE programmes from Early Years through to Secondary, with a strong focus on developing whole-school sport structures, competitive pathways, and student participation at all levels.

Mr Darryl holds a Master of Education, along with degrees in Education and Arts. He is also a qualified golf teaching professional and has extensive coaching experience across multiple sports, including basketball, rugby, swimming, tennis, and volleyball.

What stands out is his balance of leadership and hands-on teaching. He is not just an organiser of sport, but a teacher who understands how to build confidence, teamwork, and resilience through physical activity.

At Kings Yangon, he will lead the continued development of our PE and sports programme, with a clear focus on:
• Raising standards in both participation and performance
• Expanding opportunities for students across all age groups
• Building a strong, inclusive sporting culture

Students will benefit from his experience, energy, and high expectations.

We look forward to the impact he will have across the school community.

A great day at the 𝑰𝒏𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒕𝒖𝒕 𝑭𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒄̧𝒂𝒊𝒔. 🇫🇷

On March 20, our students took part in the French Language and Francophonie Quiz Competition. It was a valuable opportunity to connect with the French-speaking community and deepen their understanding of global culture.

They represented the school with confidence, enthusiasm, and a genuine willingness to get involved. That matters. 📖

Well done to everyone who took part.

We enjoyed meeting so many families at the 𝐈𝐁𝐄 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐫 this past weekend.

It was great to have real conversations about what matters most, your child’s progress, confidence, and future pathways.

Our team shared how our British curriculum works in practice:
• Cambridge programmes across all year levels
• A Level pathways with strong university outcomes
• Our Degree Pathway Programme (DPP) as an alternative route

Many students started to picture where their education could take them, not just in exams, but beyond school.

If you didn’t make it to the event, you are welcome to visit us on campus.
• Walk through our classrooms
• Speak directly with our team
• Get clear advice based on your child, not a generic plan

Our consultants are available at the main campus and ready to support you in making the right decision.

No pressure, just honest guidance.

𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐘𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐨𝐧 🌟

🏫 A strong day across both campuses.

Our Primary students led the morning with confidence. Clear explanations, well-prepared projects, and a lot of genuine curiosity on display.

In the afternoon, our Secondary students stepped up. More complex ideas, stronger technical thinking, and some impressive engineering work.

⛵️A highlight was the cardboard boat race. 💦

🔥 Simple idea, but it tested teamwork, planning, and problem solving. The pool area was full, and the energy from the students said everything.

🛠️ We also had great support from MakerXSpace and CIY, which added another layer to the experience for our younger students.🤖

What stood out most was how confidently students spoke about their work. That doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from consistent practice in the classroom.🗣️

📈 This is what progress looks like.

🎓 Students thinking clearly, explaining their ideas, and taking pride in what they’ve built.👏

𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝟔𝟏 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬

Our Early Years students took part in a simple but engaging “lava lamp” activity.🧪

It looked fun, and it was.
But there was more going on.

Students were:
• Asking questions
• Watching cause and effect
• Talking about what they could see

That’s where real learning starts.

At this age, it’s not about complex science.
It’s about curiosity.
It’s about building confidence to explore and explain.

Our teachers guided the activity carefully, giving students the space to think while supporting them when needed.

You could see the focus.
You could see the enjoyment.

These small moments matter.

✨They are the first steps in helping students become confident learners who are willing to try, think, and speak.

𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦. 𝐈𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭.

At Kings Yangon, we educate the whole child.
✨ Academically, socially, and emotionally.✨

💁🏼‍♀️ Some parents hear the word counselling and worry. They think something must be wrong.

That is not how we see it.

Counselling is there to help students:
✅ manage emotions
✅ handle friendship challenges
✅ build confidence
✅ have a safe space to talk

Sometimes students just need someone to listen.

That support can make a real difference.

Our school counsellor, Su Zar Mon, works closely with students in a calm and supportive way.

The focus is simple:
🎯 Help students feel settled, supported, and ready to learn.

🤝 We work with you, not separately from you.

Because when a child feels secure, everything else improves.

Watch the video to hear directly from Su Zar Mon about how counselling supports students at Kings Yangon.🤍
