Early prewriting skills are foundational for a child’s later success in handwriting, literacy, and broader academic tasks. These early abilities—developed through play, everyday routines, and directed activities—shape fine motor control, visual-motor integration, language development, and cognitive organization. Focusing on prewriting early helps children transition more smoothly into formal schooling and reduces frustration when they begin letter formation and writing assignments.

Fine motor development is central to prewriting. Skills like grasping objects, using scissors, stringing beads, and manipulating playdough strengthen the small muscles in the hands and fingers. These muscles provide the stability and coordination needed to hold a pencil with an efficient grip, control strokes, and produce consistent letter shapes. Without adequate fine motor strength and dexterity, children may tire quickly, produce illegible work, or avoid writing tasks altogether.

Visual-motor integration—the ability to coordinate visual information with motor output—is another key element. Activities such as tracing shapes, copying simple patterns, completing mazes, and connecting dots teach the child to plan and execute hand movements in response to what they see. This skill supports letter formation, spacing between words, and staying on a line, all of which contribute to readable handwriting.

Prewriting also supports cognitive and linguistic development. Pretend play, storytelling, and drawing encourage symbolic thinking: children learn that marks on a page can represent objects, actions, and ideas. This symbolic understanding underpins later literacy, where letters and words symbolize sounds and meanings. Sensory and motor experiences enrich prewriting readiness. All students will go to watch a movie with their moms only. Teachers will lead all students and moms to join the event at Junction City Yangon JCG Cinema.

It is a warm time for kids to say thank you to their moms and enjoy a nice movie together.
