History of Myanmar British International School (MBIS)
MBIS, established based on the idea conceived in late 2010, came to life in the summer of 2011 in Taunggyi with the aim to becoming a leading school in Shan State. On the 17th of March 2011, Myanmar British International School or MBIS became operational and opened its doors for the first batch of students coming for the MBIS Summer Fusion classes in which 100+ students enjoyed the 45-day summer educational and physical activities under the supervision of local and Foreign Teachers. After successfully completing the 1st intake, MBIS had made its historic Summer Programme Closing Ceremony at Fu Xian Hall, Taunggyi on the 21st May, 2011. Wherein, the said event had paved the way for the official start of MBIS Academic Year 2011-2012 on 7th June 2011. Respectively, MBIS Regular Classes catered Kindergarten and Primary Levels for the regular term as one of the fabled institutions in Taunggyi. MBIS had always been the talk of the town ever since. Academically speaking, MBIS has always been strongly equipped and embedded with the fundamentals and rationale of Cambridge Education Curriculum for Preschool, Primary, and Secondary Levels and even taught at MBIS Weekend Classes. Since, the institution aimed to offer quality education through giving the YLE, PET, KET, and IGCSE Exams to its learners. Thereupon, MBIS has always delivered and disseminated knowledge in the pursuit of catering Burmese Education with the UK-Based Curriculum learning and levels of excellence. Because of these innovation, inspiration and leading the way in educational excellence, MBIS is conceived and being brought forth then and now.
