ဒီနေ့ ကျနော်တို့ ခေတ်ရယ်၊ အသက်အရွယ်ရယ် နဲ့ဆိုင်တဲ့ ရူပကစကား 'Age Idiom' တွေ အကြောင်း မျှဝေပေးသွားပါမယ်။

🔴 ပွစာတတ်နေသလိုမျိုး ဟိုတစ်စဒီတစ်စဆို မကြိုက်လို့ အကုန်ပေါင်းပြီး ချုပ်ရေးထားတာမို့ စာရှည်ပါတယ်။ saveထား၊ shareထားပြီးမှ နည်းနည်းချင်းဖတ်ပါ။

ပထမဆုံး Idiom ငါးခုက စာကြောင်းအတိုင်း ထည့်သုံးရုံပဲဆိုတော့ ထွေထွေထူးထူး ရှင်းပြစရာမရှိဘူး။
ဥာဏ်ကွန့်ပြီးရေးမယ်၊ ပြောမယ်ဆိုလည်း လွယ်တယ်။

Example -

1. Do you think I was born yesterday?
မင်းငါ့ကို မနေ့တနေ့ကမှ မွေးလာတဲ့ကောင်ထင်လို့လား။

♦ I wasn't born yesterday.
- ငါ မနေ့တစ်နေ့ကမှ မွေးလာတဲ့ကောင်မဟုတ်ဘူး။
(အံတိုနေပြီ)

♦ Age is just a number.
- အသက်အရွယ်ဆိုတာ ကိန်းဂဏန်းတစ်ခုသာ။
(အသက်ကြီးပေမယ့် မပျက်စီးသေး၊ ငယ်သူပေမယ့် ခေသူမဟုတ်၊ အသက်အရွယ်ဆိုတာ အတားအဆီးမဟုတ်။)

♦ Age before beauty.
- ကြီးသူအရင်ဦးချ။
(လောကဝတ်စကားတစ်ခုအနေနဲ့ရော အချင်းချင်းစနောက်တဲ့အနေနဲ့ရော သုံးပါတယ်။)

♦ Act your age.
- အသက်ကြီးပြီး အချိန်မစီးမလုပ်နဲ့။ ကလေးကလား မလုပ်နဲ့။

♦ You can't teach an old dog new tricks.
- မင်း အရွယ်ရောက်ခွေးအိုတစ်ကောင်ကို ကစားနည်းတွေ အသစ်သင်ပေးလို့မရနိုင်ဘူး။
(သူသိသူတတ် တစ်ယူသန် လူကြီးတွေကို မေးငေါ့တဲ့စကားမျိုး)

ဒုတိယအနေနဲ့ Verb တွေ။
Verb ဆိုတော့ Subject အနည်းအများအလိုက် V1 / V1s လေးတွေ ညှိပေးမယ်။
V3 ဆိုလည်း Verb 'to have'
Ving ဆိုလည်း Verb 'to be' ခံသုံးမယ်ပေါ့။

Example -

1. Personal matters have put years on my uncle.
ကိုယ်ရေးကိုယ်တာ ကိစ္စတွေက ကျနော့်ဦးလေးကို အရွယ်နဲ့မလိုက်အောင် အိုသွားစေတယ်။

2. My parents are getting on in years.
ကျနော့်မိဘတွေ အသက်ရလာကြပြီ။

♦ come of age
- အရွယ်ရောက်၊ ရင့်ကျက်သည်။
(coming-of-age ဆိုပြီး ဇာတ်လမ်းအမျိုးအစားအနေနဲ့လည်းသုံးတယ်။
romance ဆိုရင် အချစ်ဇာတ်လမ်း၊ coming-of-age ဆိုရင် ဘဝဇာတ်လမ်း)

♦ have one foot in the grave
- သင်္ချိုင်းမျက်စောင်းထိုးသည်။
(အနာရောဂါပြင်းထန်နေတဲ့သူတွေကို ညွှန်းတာ)

♦ feel one's age
- အသက်ထောက်လာသည်ကို သတိပြုမိသည်။
(ငယ်တုန်းကလောက် မစွမ်းတော့ဘူး)

♦ get on in years
- အသက်ရလာသည်။
(အိုလာပြီဆိုတာကို နူးနူးညံ့ညံ့ပြောတာ)

♦ put years on someone
- စိတ်ဖိစီးမှု့ကြောင့် အသက်နှင့်မလိုက်အောင် အိုမင်းရင့်ရော်စေသည်။
(ဂျုံးဂျုံးကျစေသည်။)

♦ rob the cradle
- နွားအိုမြက်နုကြိုက်သည်၊ ကလေးမုန့်ကျွေးကြိုက်သည်။

အောက်ကကောင်တွေက N / adj / prep တွေဆိုတော့ Verb 'to be' နဲ့ တွဲစဥ်ရမယ်။

ဦးကျော်က အသက်ငါးဆယ်ကျော်ပေမယ့် စိတ်ပျိုကိုယ်နုနေတုန်းပဲ။

2. Don't be upset about being 40. You are not over the hill yet.
အသက်40ပြည့်တာနဲ့ ပတ်သက်ပြီး စိတ်ပျက်မနေနဲ့။ မင်းက အရွယ်ကျချိန် မရောက်သေးပါဘူး။

♦ be knee-high to a grasshopper
- ပေါက်စအရွယ်

♦ be in one's prime
- အရွယ်ကောင်း၊ အအောင်မြင်ဆုံး/အထွန်းတောက်ဆုံးအချိန်ဖြစ်သော

နီလာက 8နှစ်အရွယ် ငယ်ငယ်လေးနဲ့ စန္ဒယားကောင်းကောင်းတီးတတ်နေပြီ။

2. I haven't been to Bagan in a coon's age.
ငါ ပုဂံမရောက်ဖြစ်တာ နှစ်တော်တော်ကြာနေပြီ။

3. In this day and age, it isn't safe to travel.
ခုခေတ် ခုကာလမှာ ခရီးသွားရတာ မလုံခြုံဘူး။

♦ Ripe old age
- သေပျော်သောအရွယ်
(တစ်ဘဝလုံး ကျန်းကျန်းမာမာ၊ ပျော်ပျော်ရွှင်ရွှင်၊ ဥာဏ်ပညာအပြည့်အစုံနဲ့ အသက်ရှည်ရှည်နေခဲ့တယ် ဆိုတဲ့သဘော)

♦ Grand old age
- အိုစာလွန်းသောအရွယ်

♦ Awkward age
- 15 ဝန်းကျင် ရှက်ကိုးရှက်ကန်းအရွယ်

- နုငယ်သောအရွယ်

- အရာရာအောင်မြင်ထွန်းကားသောခေတ် ( ရွှေခေတ် )

Idiom (အစ်ဒီးအက်မ်) ဆိုတာဘာလဲ။

♦ အခြေအနေတစ်ခုကို ဥပမာပေး ရည်ညွှန်းတဲ့ အသုံးအနှုန်းတွေကို Idiom လို့ခေါ်တယ်။

♦ ထူးခြားချက်က literally (အရှိကို အရှိအတိုင်း) တိုက်ရိုက်ဘာသာပြန်လို့မရဘူး။ သွယ်ဝိုက်တဲ့ အဓိပ္ပါယ်တွေပဲရှိကြတယ်။

♦ အဲ့လို ထူးခြားလို့ပဲ Speaking ပိုင်းမှာ ကိုယ်ပြောတဲ့စကားကို ပိုပြီးအသက်ဝင်လာအောင် expression အနေနဲ့ ညှပ်ပြောလေ့ရှိကြတယ်။

ဆိုတော့ ... ကျနော်တို့ ပထမဆုံး Knowledge Sharing အနေနဲ့ အပြောပိုင်းမှာ ကျယ်ကျယ်ပြန့်ပြန့်သုံးကြတဲ့ "Idiom'' တွေကို မှတ်ရလွယ်အောင် Category ခွဲပြီး မျှဝေပေးသွားပါမယ်။
