By the guidance of God and through the prayers of the saints, the 2026 Kalay Theological Students Fellowship Sports Competition has successfully concluded.
Although the TIT students were unable to participate until the end due to unfortunate circumstances, they still achieved six championship titles, three second-place finishes, and one individual award.

TIT Prayer Day 🙏

It was our great joy to celebrate TIT Prayer Day on 7.8.2026 (Fri) at TIT campus. Remarkably, this year, we celebrated it with fasting. Thanks be to God!

The program began with a joyful and inspiring Praise and Worship Service. After that, we had a special sermon from Rev. Rozawna, Mission Vengthar Circuit Superintendent. Based on John 15:1-17, the Preacher shared about the importance of staying connected with God in daily life.

After hearing an inspiring message, we had a group prayer session. The participants were divided into six groups and each group prayed in their respective places.

Having prayed, all the groups gathered together at the Chapel to have Praise and Worship Service. In the midst of hunger, we joyfully and wholeheartedly praised God which really nourished our spiritual life. With the benediction of our Principal, Rev. J. Lalhmingmawia, the program was closed.

In the morning and afternoon sessions, we observed the Prayer Day with fasting (drinking only purified water). When late afternoon came, Fasting turned into Feasting🥰. We joyfully shared a delicious dinner together.

We were indeed blessed physically and spiritually through our Prayer Day celebration.

May God heed and answer our prayers🙏

TIT joyfully received a much‑needed Solar Battery (Felicity Solar 5 KV) today from Sayagyi Lalnunsiama and his family of Sun Private High School. Since the beginning of this Academic Year, TIT has faced a high demand for electricity. Topic: Rain

The season that we are in now is the rainy season. So, I would like to deliver a message by putting a topic 'rain.' Let's hear the word of God:

Leviticus 26:3-4 (NIV)
"If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commandments, I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees of the field their fruit."

Genesis 7:4 (NIV)
"Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living creature I have made."

The use of rain in the Bible

The Bible mentions about rain. So, I would like to start the message with the use of rain in the Bible, especially in the Old Testament. The Bible uses different words for rain. That means the Hebrews have different words for rain. There are at least 7 kinds of rain used in the Old Testament. Due to time limitation, I will not mention and explain those Hebrew words.

The functions of rain in the Bible

The word rain is used about 70 times in the Hebrew Bible. From the usage, the functions of rain in the Bible can be seen in two distinct ways:
(1) Rain serves as a symbol of Gods provision and blessing (Lev. 26:3-4)

(2) Rain serves as a symbol of Gods judgment or punishment (Gen. 7:4)

In short, rain functions as blessing and punishment.

In our society

In our society, when the sun is shining, we say the weather is fine or good. But, when it is raining, we say the weather is bad or terrible. This shows that our concept of rain is negative. So, normally, rain is not seen as good. But, in reality, rain is not necessarily bad. It also brings us good things. No rain, no food.

In our real-life situation

In our life, we often face problems, difficulties and failures even though we dont welcome them. When we face problems and difficulties, we feel sad because we can't accept problems and difficulties as our good. In that situation, we are morally down. As a result, we blame ourselves or others. Sometimes, we even blame God questioning that why God causes these things to me even though I often pray to God not to happen these kinds of things.

In fact, problems and difficulties can be for our good. Can you accept it? Just as rain that we regard as a bad weather can bring us good things, problems and difficulties also can bring us good things in our lives.

With regard to this, I would like to share about one person who has problems and difficulties in his life. His name is Nick Vuijicic, a man who was born with no limbs (no arms and legs).

Nick was an Australian-American man. He is 43 years old now. Today, he is an outstanding motivational speaker and Christian Evangelist around the world. Today he is a successful person. But the life he had gone through was not easy. As I have mentioned, he was born with no limbs. Fortunately, he has two small feet and one of his feet has two toes. By using his little toes, he can write, play, swim and manage himself.

During his boyhood, especially in school, due to his disability, he used to get bullied. Because of that he even thought about committing su***de twice. But, because of his parents love, support and encouragement he couldn't do such an unwise thing.

Besides his parents teachings and encouragements, he also got strength from the Bible, especially from John chapter 9. John chapter 9 is about the healing of a blind man. In this passage, the disciples questioned Jesus for the reason behind the man's blindness. Jesus replied them by saying that the man was born blind so that the works of God would be revealed through him. This Scripture portion changed Nicks life. Nick believed that if God had a plan for the blind man, he would surely have a plan for him as well. So, he decided to share his life story and inspire others.

Now, he has become a successful motivational speaker. He has travelled around 80 countries to have special talks. He has written 6 books. So, he is no more a disabled person now. He is above ordinary people now.

Application

What I would like to point out from Nicks life is that his life is full of cloudy and gloomy. His life is full of rain and flood. When Nick thought the rain in his life as a bad weather or destructive, he tried to commit su***de. But when he thought the rain in his life as a good weather or Gods purpose, his life is motivated and developed to do a great mission. As a result, he becomes a successful and great person.

Dear friends and students, as long as the earth goes round, there will be a sunny day and a rainy day. Crops and plants, and all creatures need both sunlight and rain to grow fruitfully. Likewise, in our life, there will be a time of happiness and sadness, a time of success and failure. Both are important for our growth and maturity in life. So, do not be morally down or discouraged because of your problem and failure. Rather, make use of your problem and failure for your growth and strength.

I would like to end the message with Romans 8:28. It says: "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

Topic: The True World Cup
(Luke 22:20; 1 Cor 11:25)

World Cup is the most popular sport. It is played every four years since 1930 except in 1942 and 1946 due to WW II.

There is a story of another kind of cup in the Bible, the cup that Jesus shares with his disciples during his last supper with his disciples. Jesus ended his three-year ministry by sharing a cup with his disciples.

The two cups, one that different countries are competing to win and the other Jesus shared with his disciples, have significant differences and contrasts.

How much is the cup, Jesus and his disciples shared each other, significant and meaningful for us?

World Cup draws a line between strong teams and weak teams. But Jesus’ cup draws everyone into equality and harmony. While World Cup characterizes competition and opposition, Jesus’ cup symbolizes compassion and oneness. World Cup pushes teams and their supporters apart while Jesus’ cup pulls people together.

And though it is called World Cup, it is only for one team, one country. It can only be won by one country. Though it is called World Cup, only 48 countries are eligible to participate. Around 150 countries are not allowed to take part. So, it is not world cup at all in its essence. But Jesus’ cup is the cup for all regardless of race, gender, status or country. So, Jesus’ cup is the true and genuine World Cup as it is the cup offered to the whole world.

World Cup screens the strong and the weak and awards the trophy to the strong. But Jesus’ cup is first offered to the sinners and the weak.

World Cup costs billions of dollars. The lowest ticket price for round of 16 is $1500, 60 lakhs in our currency. The highest ticket price for final game is almost $40000 which is (1600 lakhs) in kyat. But Jesus’ cup is offered free for all. Everyone can receive it freely.

World Cup has its worth in its outside as it is gilded with gold. In contrast, the worth of Jesus’ cup is in its inside that is the blood shed for all. Without this blood inside the cup, it will be worthless. While the worth of World Cup is defined by the gold outside of the trophy, the worth of Jesus’ cup is defined by the blood inside of the cup.

World Cup is a competition in which every team seeks joy and happiness while leaving other teams sad and cry. But Jesus' cup offers joy for all.

World Cup trophy does not even look like a cup. So, this World Cup is not a cup at all. It is called cup which is not even a cup. It is a fake cup. Jesus’ cup is the true and genuine cup that can contain liquid, that is the blood of Christ, effective for the salvation of the world.

World Cup is won by the most selfish team who can control the ball most and share least it to opposite team and scores goals against other teams. So, World Cup characterizes selfishness and self-centeredness, playing to defeat others. Jesus’ cup symbolizes selflessness and sacrifice for others. It contains the blood shed for the whole world. While World Cup excludes other teams that lost a game, Jesus’ cup embraces everyone. There is no winner or loser in Jesus’ cup. Matthean version of the story said “This is the blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.” While Jesus’ cup offers forgiveness, World Cup forsakes all the lost teams.

World Cup creates pride on the part of winners. At the end of the game between France and Paraguay, Paraguay lost the game. The Paraguay keeper reached Kylian Mbappé, the French captain, to congratulate him. But Mbappe’s respone is arrogant. He ignored the keeper’s congratulations but continued celebrating his win. World Cup symbolizes competition and pride, while Jesus’cup is a symbol of humility and sacrifice for others.

The true and genuine cup, the cup offered by Jesus for you and for all, is the cup that will shape you and us to become a humble person replacing your pride or ego-centered personality. It will equip you to bear a life of sacrifice for others replacing your selfish or self-centered personality.

You come to TIT not to win a kind of World Cup, but the genuine cup offered by Christ to you. As a student, you have to work hard to win the first price in your class, to be the best student in your class, to win the highest grade and to write the excellent paper. But at the end of the day, if you do not win the cup, filled with Jesus’ blood, your study here at TIT will still be like half-cooked rice which is not eatable.

Therefore, apart from your highest grade and excellent term papers and presentation in the class, you still need to win the cup, the cup with Jesus’ blood, so that you are equipped with the mind of humbleness and heart of sacrifice for Christ, for your church, for your community.

In 1 Corinthian, Jesus tells us to take his cup of blood in “Remembrance of him.” The best way of memory of our loved one is to imitate the good characters of him/her. Likewise, the best way of remembering Christ is by obeying his words, following his teachings, imitating his characters, and living a sacrificial life for his kingdom and mission.

Try to win the true/ genuine cup, offered by Christ. The cup with Jesus’ blood. The cup of humbleness, the cup of selflessness, and the cup of sacrifice. That is the only true/genuine World Cup, the cup for you, the cup for all and the cup for the whole world, not the cup only for one group, one team or one country.

Topic: Identity
Scripture: Mark 8:27–30

Our principal preached last week that our most important identity is being children of God. I’d like to continue that topic this morning.

Who are you? What am I? There is no such thing as existing without an identity. Even when we say, “I am nothing,” that very state of being “nothing” is still an identity of sorts!

We all possess two kinds of identity.

The first is an earned identity—the identity shaped by our actions and accomplishments. We could say it is the identity created by what we do. If you constantly deceive people, you become known as a “deceiver” or a “liar.” If you regularly steal, you become a “thief.” On the other hand, if you consistently do good things with integrity and trustworthiness, you earn the identity of a good and reliable person.

However, there is another identity that does not change with your actions. This is your inherent identity—the identity you are born with. No matter how fluent you become in English and no matter how often you speak it, you do not automatically become English. Even if people despise you, look down on you, or treat you as less than a dog, they cannot destroy or alter your identity as a human being created by God. This inherent identity is not something we can change; rather, it is something we carry with us throughout life.

Those who possess a noble inherent identity are indeed fortunate. At the same time, an earned identity is also important and honourable. For that reason, I tend to admire more the person who, through ability, talent, and hard work, rises to live at 10 Downing Street than someone who was simply born into the British royal family and destined to live in Buckingham Palace. Nevertheless, once both have attained their respective positions and identities, the value of their earned identity will ultimately be judged by how well they serve the people under their care.

Trying to pursue an identity that is not truly ours often burdens us and makes life miserable. Therefore, when we accept who we are and stop chasing what we are not, our life becomes freer.

All the different identities we possess are valuable. There is no identity that is inherently more honourable or glorious simply because one is a pastor, a doctor, a teacher, or a businessperson. What matters most is not merely being a doctor, pastor, teacher, or entrepreneur, but what kind of doctor, pastor, teacher, or entrepreneur you are.

Truly, it is the greatest gift of God that we are His children. Yet I want to emphasize that God is more interested in who we are becoming than in what we already are by His grace. It is through our actions — the way we grow, serve, and love others — that we glorify God and bless His other children, our fellow human beings.

Under the protection of God and with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we (the tutors and the people around you) are watching what you (students) are becoming! We are more interested in what you are becoming than what you are now!

May God enable us to grow up together in the way to a greater identity built up through our humble actions together here!🙏

TIT Green Day
(1 July 2026)

Today, we celebrated TIT Green Day with purpose and joy.

The morning began with an inspiring lecture by Rev. Dr. Thawng Bik, representing the Falam Baptist Association and the Chin Baptist Union. He shared valuable insights on community development through environmental stewardship and educational ministry.

In the afternoon, we put our learning into action by cutting down old trees, planting new ones, cleaning the campus, and working hand in hand to renew our surroundings. By 3:30 p.m., we had not only completed our tasks but also strengthened our spirit of unity.

May we carry this spirit forward by planting more trees, conserving nature, and caring for God’s creation for generations to come. Together, we can make our world greener and brighter.
