"A friend in need is a friend indeed"
(ဒုကၡေရာက္ေနတဲ့အခ်ိန္မွာ ကူညီတာက မိတ္ေဆြေကာင္း)

Sudama was a poor Brahmin.
(ဆူဒမာ က ဆင္းရဲတဲ့ ဘရာဟင္တစ္ေယာက္ျဖစ္တယ္)
He and his family lived in utter poverty and misery.
(သူနဲ႔ သူ႔မိသားစုဟာ အတိ ဆင္းရဲဒုကၡေတြနဲ႔ ရွင္သန္ၾကရတယ္)
For days together,they had very little to eat.
( ေန့တိုင္းလိုလို သူတို႔မွာ စားစရာမရိွသေလာက္ပါပဲ)
They often slept without having any food at all.
(သူတို႔ဟာ တစ္ေနကုန္ ဘာမွမစားရပဲ မၾကာမၾကာ အိပ္စက္ၾကရတယ္)
Sudama cursed himself for not being able to provide for his family.
(ဆူဒမာဟာ သူ႔မိသားစုအေပၚ ဘာမွမေထာက္ပံ့ႏိုင္တဲ့အတြက္ေၾကာင့္ ကိုယ့္ကိုယ္ကိုယ္ က်ိန္ဆဲ၊ ဆဲဆိုေနခဲ့ပါတယ္)
The thoughts of committing su***de often crossed his mind.
(မိမိကိုယ္မိမိ သတ္ေသဖို႔ အေတြးေတြဟာ မၾကာမၾကာ သူ႔ေခါင္းထဲ ေရာက္လာတယ္)
Once in a fit of depression he voiced his thoughts to his wife.
(တခါက အဲလို စိတ္ဓာတ္က်မႈေတြ စုပံုလာတဲ့အတြက္ သူ႔အေတြးေတြကို သူ႔မိန္းမထံ ဖြင့္ဟလာတယ္)

She tried to console her husband and then, reminded him of his friendship with Lord Krishna — the king of Dwarika.
(သူမဟာ သူ႔ေယာက်ာ္းကို ႏွစ္သိမ့္ဖို႔ႀကိဳးစားတယ္ အဲ့ေနာက္မွာ သူ႔သူငယ္ခ်င္းျဖစ္တဲ့ ဘုရင္ဒြါရိက လို႔ေခၚတဲ့ နတ္ဘုရားကရစ္ရွနာ ကို အမွတ္ရေစပါတယ္)
As children Krishna and Sudama had lived and studied together Sandipan Muni's Ashram.
(ငယ္ရြယ္စဉ္ကေလးဘဝတည္းက ကရစ္ရွနာ နဲ႔ ဆူဒမာ တို႔ဟာ ဆန္ဒီပန္မူနီ အရွရမ္ ထဲမွာ အတူေန အတူစာသင္ခဲ့ၾကပါတယ္)
"Go to him", she pleaded, " Krishna is all powerful ,kind and generous."
("သူ႔ဆီကိုသြားလိုက္ပါ ၊ သူက အတိဩဇာႀကီးမာတယ္၊ ၾကင္နာတယ္ ၿပီးေတာ့ ရက္ေရာတယ္ "ဆိုၿပီး သူမက ေျပာလိုက္တယ္)
ဆိုတာ အသနားခံတာ၊ ေလ်ွာက္တင္တာ ၊ဒီေနရာမွာ အသနားခံေျပာတယ္ ဆိုမွေတာ့ ဘယ္လို သူ႔ေယာက်ာ္းကို ေျပာလဲဆိုတာကို ပံုေဖာ္ၾကၫ့္ၾကေပါ့။
(Go to him ဆိုတာကို အသံမာမာနဲ႔ေျပာမယ္ဆိုရင္ အမိန႔္ေပးသလိုျဖစ္ၿပီ ၊ခုက အသနားခံေျပာတာဆိုေတာ့ အသံညံ့ညံ့ေလးနဲ႔ေပါ့)
"He will surely help you in this hour of need."
(ဒီလို လိုအပ္ေနတဲ့ အခ်ိန္မ်ိဳးမွာ သူ မင္းကို တကယ္ကူညီမွာပါ)
Sudama hesitated, " He is a king and I'm just a poor wretched Brahmin. How can I visit him ?"
(" သူက ဘုရင္ ငါက စိတ္ပ်က္စရာ၊စုတ္ခ်ာခ်ာနိုင္လွတဲ့ ဘရာဟင္ တစ္ေယာက္သာျဖစ္တယ္၊ ငါသူ႔ဆီကို ဘယ္လိုသြားႏိုင္မွာလဲ " ဆိုၿပီး ဆူဒမာက တံု႔ဆိုင္းဝန္ေလးေနတယ္)
"So what!" She countered, " friendship is above class differences."
("ဘာဖစ္လဲ ၊ ခင္မင္ရင္းႏွီးမႈဆိုတာ အဆင့္အတန္းကြာဟမွုနဲ့မဆိုင္ဘူး" ဆိုၿပီး သူမက ခြန္းတံု႔ျပန္လိုက္တယ္)

You must seek his help.
(မင္း သူ႔အကူအညီကို ရယူရမယ္)
I can't see our children dying of hungry.
(ငါ ငါ့ကေလးေတြ ဆာေလာင္မြတ္သိပ္ၿပီးေနရမွာကို မျမင္လိုဘူး)
Finally Sudama agreed to visit Krishna.
(ေနာက္ဆံုး ဆူဒမာက ကရစ္ရွနာဆီသြားဖို႔ သေဘာတူလိုက္တယ္)
His wife borrowed some rice from neighborhood and gave it to Sudama as a gift for his friend.
(သူ႔မိန္းမဟာ ပတ္ဝန္းက်င္ကသူေတြဆီကေန ဆန္အခ်ိဳ႕ေခ်းယူၿပီး သူ႔သူငယ္ခ်င္းအတြက္ လက္ေဆာင္အျဖစ္ အဲဒီ့ဆန္ကို ဆူဒမာအား ေပးလိုက္တယ္)
Sudama started on his journey.
(ဆူဒမာဟာ သူ႔ခရီးကို အစျပဳလိုက္ပါတယ္)
#သူခရီးစထြက္တယ္ ဆိုတဲ့သေဘာပါ
At the palace gate,the guard refused Sudama an entry inside.
(နန္းေတာ္ဂိတ္ဝမွာ အေစာင့္က ဆူဒမာကို နန္းေတာ္ထဲ ဝင္ခြင့္ေပးဖို႔ ျငင္းလိုက္ပါတယ္)
#အပိုင္း ဆက္ေတြကိုလည္း ဆက္လက္ တင္ေပးသြားပါမယ္
တစ္စုတစည္းတည္း ဖတ္ႏိုင္ေအာင္ စုေပးပါမယ္ဗ်။
