Frames of Flavours: Third International Workshop Completed!

We marked the third session of the international project "Frames of Flavours", bringing together young creatives and students from North Macedonia, Serbia, and Albania in an inspiring online atmosphere!

During this session, students learned from outstanding international experts:

Zvezdan Mančić from the Center for the Development of Photography (Belgrade), sharing his expertise on visual narratives.

Stefano De Luigi, joining online from France to provide a global perspective on culinary arts.

The workshop was actively supported by Dean Prof. Aleksandra Ristovska, PhD, and Teaching Assistant Rijad Crnišanin.

Students are now heading into the field to capture local markets, family kitchens, and handwritten family recipes as we prepare for our final exhibition in Shkodër, Albania.

Congratulations to Elena Dimchevska on the successful defense of her bachelor thesis, “Tangled Identities: A Visual Art Investigation of Feminine Identity Formation Through Hair as Cultural Practice”.

Through a thoughtful visual exploration, Elena examined the symbolic role of hair and braiding in shaping feminine identity, exploring the delicate tension between care, cultural inheritance, and social expectations through a powerful artistic triptych.

Developed under the mentorship of Prof. Srdjan Mićić, and presented before the committee: Prof. Aleksandra Ristovska and Aleksandra Hadji-Naumova Atanasovska, TA.

Congratulations on this beautiful academic and artistic achievement!

“Phased Out - Creative Burnout and Artistic Exhaustion - What does it look when creativity disappears?” Is a mixed media art project by Liza Azemi, created under the mentorship of Prof. Aleksandra Ristovska, and evaluated by committee members Prof. Srdjan Mićić and Assoc. Prof. Goce Gospodinovski.

This project explores the psychology effects of creative burnout on artists and the way artistic identity becomes affected by emotional exhaustion, pressure, and the inability to create.

Through a series of paintings, 70x70 cm and 50x70 cm canvases, and an experimental short film, the project visually follows the gradual progression from inspiration, to pressure, to collapse. Using color, composition, texture, and atmosphere to reflect the internal experience of creative absence.

We are proud to present the graduation project of our student Ajsu Salijevska, a multidisciplinary artistic exploration of identity, transformation, and self-perception.

The project under the mentorship of Prof. Srdjan Mićić called “Abstract Masked Identity,” examines identity as something fluid, layered, and constantly evolving, shaped by personal experiences, social environments, and emotional states. Through a compelling fusion of painting, sculptural elements, and visual symbolism, the work reflects the many “masks” individuals wear in different aspects of life.

The diploma project was evaluated by a committee composed of Prof. Aleksandra Ristovska and Assoc. Prof. Goce Gospodinovski, who recognized the project’s strong conceptual approach and its thoughtful exploration of identity through contemporary artistic expression.

We wish Ajsu continued success and inspiration in her artistic journey.
