Back by popular demand, American Corner Skopje is hosting another round of the 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹!

If you are a high school student looking to have a fun and productive summer, join us at our one-week Summer School, organized in collaboration with professors Sanja Shankovska and Nadica Arangjelovikj from Orce Nikolov High School.

On June 5th, the American Corner Skopje hosted a Jubilee-style debate between Fullbright ETA Nasim Salih and high school and university students, members of the American Corner Skopje. ✨
The debate was divided between two topics, a philosophy topic – Wisdom Is More Important than Intelligence – and a sports topic – LeBron James Can Play 22 More Years of Basketball and Still Not Be as Good as Michael Jordan. 🏀⛹🏾‍♂️
The debate was respectful and engaged, with students and Nasim trading arguments. Even after the formal part of the debate was over, students stayed behind talking more about basketball and sharing their opinions on the sport. 🎲

On June 4th, American Corner Skopje and SIEC held the final class for the English for Pensioners – Англиска група центар program. The final class and party was held at the American Corner Skopje. ✨📖
During the event, members of the program got to spend time together, revise the material through songs and games like scrabble and trivia, and say goodbye to some of the volunteers and assistants of the class. 📚🎓
Classes will resume this September. 🔜

🏁 On June 3rd, American Corner Skopje and Fulbright ETA Nasim Salih visited SUGS Orce Nikolov for an outreach and a session of Learn English through Games – Jeopardy.

🎲 We spent time with 4 freshmen classes and played several rounds of Jeopardy, during which students answered questions in world history, geography, sports and influential individuals.

🎓 In addition to playing the game, students got to learn more about the Fulbright program about the Fulbright Program the work of the American Corner and our upcoming events.

📖 On June 3rd, American Corner Skopje hosted Fulbright Researcher Jennifer Sorells for another session of D&D.
We were very happy to see new faces during the session as well as many returning ones, as the encounter evolved including fighting an actual, green dragon. 🎲🐉

𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗘: This event is for students ages 14 to 30.

🇺🇸 In the month of May, American Corner Skopje and SIEC had 4 classes with our Англиска Група Центар club.
We learned about international and local travel, asking for and giving directions, colors and family members, all while singing, playing games and talking. 🎶
On our last official class Deutsche Welle filmed our class, so keep an eye out for that very soon! 🎥

🏁Last weekend American Corners in North Macedonia partnered with the Founder Games organization to host the finals of the Founder Games Student’s Race. Our 5 winning teams got a chance to compete for the Student Entrepreneur Award by filling out their passports with signatures from start ups and investors competing at the Founder Games show. ✨

Participants shadowed startups as they pitched their businesses to investors, and got a chance to workshop and pitch their own ideas, and gain invaluable personal firsthand experience of the process of funding a business. 🏆
