We are pleased to announce one of the speakers and guest at our Congress, Charles Cassar 🙂

Charles Cassar has been practicing Gestalt psychotherapy in private practice as a registered Maltese and European certified psychotherapist for the past twenty-two years. He is also an existential analyst and a logotherapist as well as a certified supervisor.

Charles Cassar is the current President of the EAP. He has held the position of Chair of the NUOC and member of the Executive Committee for the past twelve years. Charles has held the position of President for the Malta Association of Psychotherapists (MAP) for the past seventeen years, to date. One of the aims he had set for himself as President of the MAP, was to lobby for legislation which would regulate the profession. Finally, in 2018, a law was passed to regulate psychotherapy as a profession in its own right.

He is currently appointed on a number of regulatory boards amongst which, he is chairperson to the Board for the Psychotherapy Profession in Malta.

Joyce Sciberras is a Gestalt psychotherapist presently working in private practice, as well as a supervisor and teacher at the Gestalt Psychotherapy Training Institute Malta. She trained as a social worker at the University of Malta, later obtained a post-graduate Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapy from GPTIM and was awarded a Master’s Degree in Gestalt Psychotherapy from Birmingham University.

This Tuesday we are happy to present you another keynote speaker:

Prof. Dr. Ceylan Das is a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist. She is both giving lectures in the psychology departments of Universities for years and she also has her private practice. She works with individuals, couples as well as with groups. She started her Gestalt therapy training with Metanoia, England and continued with different Gestalt Institutes in Europe and USA. She is the president of the Turkish Gestalt Therapy Association and the editor of Contact: Gestalt Therapy Journal. She is the writer of Integration and Growth: Gestalt Therapy book both in Turkish and in English.

Antonia Konstantinidou is BSc in Psychology, MSc in Social & Clinical Psychology, Gestalt Psychotherapist, Trainer, and Supervisor. 25 years of private practice in psychotherapy with individuals and groups. For 20 years works as Gestalt Therapy trainer and supervisor. Co-founder of Training Institute “Gestalt Foundation". She conducts lectures and workshops with topics such as: mindfulness, diagnosis, psychopathology, and supervision in the context of Gestalt Therapy.

This year Congress is organized by Gestalt Institute Skopje and EAPTI-GPTIM Network.

Gestalt Institute Skopje was founded in 2006 from Prof. Dr. Emilija Stoimenova Canevska and from 2008 is recognized and accredited by the European Association for Gestalt Therapy (EAGT) and the European Association of Psychotherapy (EAP).

EAPTI-GPTIM Network or EGN was established in 2018 as the result of the unique relationship of mutual trust, friendship, respect and support between Dr. Lidija Pecotic and her original group of colleagues, who are now head of the various institutes in the different countries, or their senior practitioners. EGN is also recognized and accredited by the European Association for Gestalt Therapy (EAGT) and the European Association of Psychotherapy (EAP).

Our 2nd keynote speaker:

Velimir Abramovic a guest lecturer at the University of Padova in Italy, the Dessau International Architecture School in Germany, the Department for history and theory of theatre at the University of Giessen in Germany and Rijksacademie-Royal Academy of visual arts in the Netherlands. He obtained his degree in Film and Television Direction at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts and master’s degree in the Theory of Culture at the Faculty of Political Science and he was awarded his doctoral degree at the Faculty of Philosophy, the University of Skopje in the field of philosophy of science (ontology and gnoseology).
He is a correspondent and president of the section for the Netherlands and Belgium of Tesla Memorial Society of New York and one of the founders of the Stichting International Academy of Universal Science foundation in Amsterdam where he is a visiting professor and appointed a vice president.
He has participated in numerous symposia and he holds lectures and seminars at home and abroad in the fields of the theatrology, contemporary film theory, contemporary media, theory of visual arts, Pythagorean aesthetics, film history.
His main interests are literature, poetry, prose and criticism. He has published books of poetry „Emsel“ and „Little poems“, a novel „The Spirit of Balkania“ and a philosophical study on the Problem of Continuity in the Philosophy of Leibniz and Boscovich.
