Skopje/Shtip Dance Academy is a unique Contemporary dance study program in English at State university Goce Delchev. The teaching program is led by Risima Risimkin, full-time prof. PhD, and young teaching team MA Adrijana Danchevska, Anastasija Danchevska & Dejan Bitrovski. From October 2021 we are starting with undergraduate, three-year studies in Contemporary Dance in English language, for which students are also entitled to a Bachelor of Arts in Contemporary Dance Performance. The English version of the program includes the following subjects: Contemporary dance; Improvisation and composition; Classic ballet; Jazz Ballet, Urban Styles; Hip hop; History of Dance, Partnership; Laban Analysis, World Music and Repertoire. All the courses are led by experienced professors, some of them are dancers from the Skopje Dance Theater, during the study program, there will be residences of foreign professors and choreographers. Dance department of UGD is connected with different dance academies in Europe and China with whom there is possibilities for exchanges. Students gain knowledge and proficiency in different dance techniques, they participate in production and performing program of Skopje Dance Theater and perform intensively in Macedonia and abroad, and in the frame of Dance Fest Skopje - International festival for contemporary dance. https://www.facebook.com/dancefestskopje
In summary, the students will gain a wide range of knowledge, not only in dance techniques, but also in creating and producing performances. We fully support our students and encourages them to greater creativity and practice, which means that we support new productions, promote young choreographers and help them place in this country and abroad.
* The program is made according to the Bologna Convention, three years graduating for dancers, following by two years MA for teachers and choreographers
