Talent Engagement Center at UKLO equipped to support innovation and student engagement

The Talent Engagement Center (TEC), established within the UKLO Student Information Center as part of the NanoBioTech Nexus project, has been further strengthened through the installation of new equipment that supports its role as a hub for innovation, collaboration, and student development.

The Center is equipped with two high-performance Legion Slim 5 16APH8 computers that serve as Interactive Multimedia Kiosks, providing advanced technological resources for students, researchers, and project participants. The equipment supports hands-on training, mentoring activities, project development, and other innovation-oriented initiatives.

In addition, the Center includes a self-service digital information solution that provides engaging digital content and project-related information. The system enables users to stay informed about funding opportunities, networking events, training programs, and other activities relevant to innovation and entrepreneurship.

The enhanced Talent Engagement Center contributes to the creation of a modern and dynamic environment that promotes knowledge exchange, skills development, and stronger collaboration between academia, industry, and the wider innovation ecosystem.

The Center is fully operational and serves as an important resource for the implementation of NanoBioTech Nexus project activities and for supporting the UKLO community.

Innovations That Change Perspectives: IFNMU Expands Its Partnership Network

Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University continues to develop the partnership network of the NanoBioTech NEXUS project by engaging representatives of the practical healthcare sector and local business. “Optyka Tvoho Mista” has joined the project’s partnership cooperation.

This partnership is important for the NanoBioTech NEXUS project, as it helps better connect academic developments with the real needs of the healthcare services market. Today, the field of optics is developing at the intersection of medicine, technology, service, and entrepreneurship, making it a relevant example of how innovative solutions can gain practical value for users.

Cooperation with “Optyka Tvoho Mista” will strengthen the practical dimension of the project, particularly in terms of understanding consumer needs, developing entrepreneurial thinking, analysing the market potential of innovative ideas, and identifying pathways for their further implementation. Within NanoBioTech NEXUS, such interaction helps participants view innovation not only as a scientific or technological concept, but also as a future product, service, or solution that should respond to people’s real needs and be viable in the medical business environment.

The involvement of local business in the partnership network also contributes to the development of a broader innovation ecosystem around the university. From Idea to Intellectual Property Protection: BioSealMorg-Nano Team Submitted a Utility Model Application

Within the NanoBioTech NEXUS project, one of the selected non-academic staff teams working on the innovative idea BioSealMorg-Nano has successfully submitted an application for utility model registration.

This achievement marks an important stage in the development of the idea, which has progressed from participation in project activities to the preparation of materials for intellectual property protection. The team worked on refining the concept, clarifying its applied value, and preparing the technical description of the solution with regard to its potential for further practical application.

The submission of the utility model application demonstrates that support for innovative ideas within NanoBioTech NEXUS is not limited to training or mentoring. The project creates conditions for promising developments to move to the next stages, including legal protection, further improvement, identification of implementation pathways, and potential commercialisation.

For Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University, this result is an example of how involving the non-academic sector in innovation activities can contribute to the development of practice-oriented solutions in medicine, biotechnology, and related fields. At the same time, it highlights the importance of combining expert support, entrepreneurial thinking, and intellectual property protection in the innovation development process.

📢 NanoBioTechNexus Training Events – Phase 2
Within Phase 2 of the NanoBioTechNexus project, two training events comprising a series of courses were implemented between 20 April and 19 May, involving students from UKLO.
The events were hosted at the Faculty of Information and Communication Technologies in Bitola, where 11 courses were delivered, and at the Faculty of Economics in Prilep, where 12 courses were conducted. The programme was delivered by experienced academic staff from both faculties through structured lectures.

• Nanotechnology as a driver of a circular and sustainable economy
• Emerging trends in nanobiotechnology
• AI and data-driven innovation in biotechnology
• Synergies between AI and nanobiotechnology for intelligent systems

These activities contributed to the development of advanced knowledge and practical competencies aligned with current scientific, technological, and business trends. The involvement of qualified lecturers ensured a high-quality learning experience, combining theoretical foundations with practical applications.

Bringing Innovation Closer to Practice through NanoBioTech NEXUS

Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University continues to engage institutions that work with the practical needs of modern medicine in the partnership network of the international NanoBioTech NEXUS project. The Rehabilitation and Prevention Center “Krok Vpered” has joined the cooperation network. Its activities are related to recovery, prevention of functional impairments, and support for patients throughout the rehabilitation process.

The involvement of specialised rehabilitation centers in the project’s partnership network is important for understanding the real needs of practical medicine and the medical business sector. Rehabilitation is an area where the need for new solutions is particularly evident — solutions that can improve the effectiveness of recovery, enhance patient comfort, support individualised care, and contribute to more sustainable models for delivering medical and rehabilitation services.

The partnership with the Rehabilitation and Prevention Center “Krok Vpered” strengthens the applied dimension of the project, as it allows innovative ideas to be considered in the context of real rehabilitation practice and the healthcare services market. This cooperation creates conditions for a better understanding of the needs of patients and professionals, assessment of the practical relevance of proposed solutions, and identification of possible pathways for their further implementation. Within NanoBioTech NEXUS, it also contributes to the development of entrepreneurial thinking, enabling project participants to view innovations not only as scientific or technological ideas, but also as potential products or services capable of responding to the needs of the healthcare sector.

This format of partnership makes it possible to combine the academic potential of the university with the experience of specialists who work directly with patients and understand the real challenges of the rehabilitation field. Big Ideas Day 2.0: Future Starts Here. Second EnterPRIZE Event

On 15 May 2026, the second EnterPRIZE event was held at Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University within the framework of the international NanoBioTech NEXUS project. The event became another stage of the competitive selection process for innovative ideas submitted under Open Call 2026.

Following the evaluation of the submitted applications, five ideas were shortlisted for the pitching session, and their authors presented their concepts before the jury panel. The jury included representatives of the university community and IFNMU’s partner within the NanoBioTech NEXUS project — Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University. During the presentations, participants showcased innovative solutions aimed at advancing nanotechnologies, biotechnologies, and their applied use in medicine and related fields.

Based on the evaluation results, one idea was selected for further funding. The winner of the second EnterPRIZE event was a project focused on developing an innovative solution to improve the comfort and functionality of prosthetics. The idea was recognised for its practical potential in the field of rehabilitation, patient support, and the improvement of individualised approaches to prosthetic care. The winning project will receive 10,000€ from the prize fund.

The second EnterPRIZE event continued the series of activities aimed at supporting startup initiatives and creating a platform for interaction between authors of innovative ideas, experts, and project partners. The event demonstrated the practical focus of NanoBioTech NEXUS and its role in stimulating the development of innovative solutions with strong potential for further implementation.

Innovative Solutions of the Future: Mentoring Sessions within NanoBioTech NEXUS

Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University continues its series of mentoring sessions within the international project NanoBioTech NEXUS. In May 2026, the next 20 representatives of the non-academic community will work on improving their innovative solutions developed during the second workshop.

The mentoring support includes individual work with experts, discussion of the strengths and areas for improvement of the innovative developments, as well as the formation of approaches for their practical implementation. Within the sessions, participants will have the opportunity to refine their concepts in light of real market needs, commercialisation potential, and opportunities for further project implementation.

This format allows participants to move from a general introduction to innovative approaches to in-depth work on specific ideas. It is precisely the mentoring sessions that create the conditions for high-quality refinement of the most promising developments and their transformation into real solutions.

IFNMU Strengthens the Partnership Network of the International Project NanoBioTech NEXUS

Within the international project NanoBioTech NEXUS, Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University continues to build a partnership environment focused on introducing innovative solutions into medical practice. The rehabilitation center “Moia Nadiia” has joined the cooperation network; its work is directly connected with patient recovery and the practical application of approaches that require modern technological solutions.

The rehabilitation sector today needs tools that can improve the effectiveness of recovery treatment, adapt care to the individual needs of patients, and create more convenient and functional conditions for the rehabilitation process. For this reason, partnership with specialised practical institutions is an important component of NanoBioTech NEXUS: it makes it possible to combine academic expertise with the real needs of the field and to generate demand for the development of innovative medical solutions.

Cooperation with the rehabilitation center “Moia Nadiia” creates additional opportunities for discussing and testing ideas related to new materials, adaptive technologies, individualised approaches to patient support, and other solutions that may be useful in the field of rehabilitation medicine. This format of interaction strengthens the practical dimension of the project and creates a foundation for the further development of innovation through partnership between the university and the professional sector.

Big Ideas Day 2.0: Future Starts Here. Second EnterPRIZE Event Within Open Call 2026

We invite the authors of innovative ideas submitted within the Open Call 2026 to take part in the second EnterPRIZE event, where they will have the opportunity to present their work before an expert jury and the project partners.

The event will serve as a platform for showcasing the most promising startup ideas and practical solutions developed within the NanoBioTech Nexus project, and will provide participants with professional feedback, expert assessment, and the opportunity for further mentoring support.

During the event, participants will be able to:

● present their innovative ideas in a short pitch format;
● receive feedback from the expert jury;
● compete for financial support for the further development of their solutions;
● establish contacts with representatives of academia, business, and the innovation community.

Teams and individual applicants whose ideas were submitted within Open Call 2026 and successfully passed the initial selection are invited to participate.

The winner of the second EnterPRIZE event will receive a financial award and further mentoring support for refining and implementing the best idea.

New Ideas and New Opportunities: IFNMU Hosted the Second Workshop within NanoBioTech NEXUS project

From 4 to 8 May 2026, the Talent Engagement Center of Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University hosted the second workshop for representatives of the non-academic community, organised within the framework of the international NanoBioTech NEXUS project. The event focused on fostering innovative thinking, the practical application of nanobiotechnologies, and the development of approaches for integrating new solutions into medical practice.

The workshop programme combined various learning formats, including lectures, group assignments, interactive workshops, expert consultations, and independent work with educational materials. Participants explored contemporary approaches in nanomedicine, discussed the potential use of innovative technologies in healthcare, and became familiar with tools necessary for transforming ideas into practical solutions.

Special attention was devoted to the development of participants’ own concepts, the analysis of applied case studies, and the exploration of pathways for the further commercialisation of innovative ideas. This format enabled participants not only to deepen their knowledge but also to assess the potential of their own developments in the context of real market needs and opportunities for future growth.

A total of 79 participants joined the second workshop. Following the training programme, the most promising ideas will be selected for further development through mentoring sessions, during which participants will receive professional guidance and support at the next stages of advancing their projects.
