In France, small patches of nature are hitting the streets on two wheels. Mobile gardens, built atop specially designed cargo bikes, are being cycled through cities and parked outside hospitals, schools, and community centers — offering a moment of calm and green relief in busy or stressful environments. These pedal-powered gardens are tended by volunteers who move them from place to place, creating spontaneous urban oases wherever they stop.

Each mobile garden is a carefully balanced composition of soil beds, herb trays, potted flowers, and sometimes small trees or climbing plants supported by trellises. The bikes are equipped with water tanks, solar-powered misting systems, and fold-out seating or planter benches that encourage passersby to stop and engage.
