Le critère primordial pour les collectionneurs reste principalement le degré du changement de couleur, plus le changement de couleur passe du bleu au rouge plus la pierre coûte chère. Dans ce cas de figure le changement de couleur est modérer, allant du bleutée violacé rosé sous une lumière froide (blanche) au violacé bleuté sous une lumière légèrement mixte pour ensuite passer au violet sous une lumière moyennement chaude et rose légèrement violacé pour finir au rouge rosé sous une lumière chaude. Une particularité assez attirante aussi et ça fluorescence rouge une fois sous une lumière UV, ce qui témoigne d'une faible teneur en fer et d'une présence sois de vanadium ou sois de chrome dans ca composition chimique.
