The American Corner and EducationUSA Centre in Podgorica is made available
through joint efforts of the US Embassy of Podgorica and authorities of the Capital City Podgorica. Opened in November 2003, it grows rapidly in membership and popularity among English speaking Montenegrins. Starting from 2015, AC Podgorica is also an advising center. EducationUSA is a global network of more t
han 400 advising centers supported by the State Department Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. EducationUSA advising centers actively promote U.S. higher education around the world by offering accurate, unbiased, comprehensive, objective and timely information about educational institutions in the United States and guidance to qualified individuals on how best to access those opportunities. Library consists of over 3000 titles in English. The reference books can be used in the Corner: dictionaries and diverse encyclopedias. Others can be signed out for two weeks, including DVDs. The covered areas include: American literature, history and law,
politics, business, journalism, but also music, arts, movies and many other fields of interest. We offer free weekly advising sessions to everyone interested to continue their studies or research in the USA, as well as free prep sessions for SAT and TOEFL. Our library also features resources from EducationUSA collection. Magazines are available too. National Geographic, Smithsonian, Wired, American Cinematographer, New Yorker, Art in America, to name but a few. Important note: our library is periodically enriched with new titles, many of which are suggested by our members. Another important note: some magazines are available online only, through ELibraryUSA. Ask us about this resource! This is the place to be during the daytime if you want to read, study in quiet or browse the Internet. This is the place to be in the evening, for the diverse programs we offer in fields of arts, movies, education, sciences, politics, society, women empowerment, environment protection...the list can go on, showing the diversity and comprehensiveness of our cultural ties and depth of programming.
