The Association for Supporting Children with Special Needs, promotes children's rights and youth's with disabilities, as well as their families.
The Association for Supporting Children with Special Needs is a nongovernmental, non-profit, non-political organization, established up by free will of associated people. It promotes children's rights and youth's with convulsive syndrome and other disabilities, as well as their families, in conformity with the Legislation of the Republic of Moldova and the United Nations Convention concerning Chi
ldren's rights. Vision:
All children and youth with epilepsy, convulsive syndrome and other disabilities will have the best opportunity to reach their potential. Mission:
To create necessary conditions concerning re/habilitation, training and harmonious integration for children suffering from epilepsy and other disabilities. To provide opportunities and choice to reach their potential and achieve goals by providing an array of individual and family support. Rights promotion and the reverence to human life, support in creativity and psychological activities. Objectives:
The association acts for creation of necessary conditions concerning social, psychological and medical re/habilitation of children that suffer from epilepsy and other disabilities. Promotion and respect of their rights, psychological activity and sustainable creation, according to the Convention of the United Nations regarding children's rights. Sensitiveness, influence and formation of public opinion concerning these children's problems. The association takes a decisive attitude against any violation of children's rights. The activities we develop:
- Training for parents, preschool and school staff regarding education and social integration of children who suffer from epilepsy and other disabilities;
- attraction of public opinion to the problems that children and teenagers who suffer from epilepsy and other disabilities face in society;
- issue of bulletins, booklets and other materials referred to the topics under consideration;
- establishment of the Centre of Habilitation and Resources;
- cooperation with central and local authorities being competent for solution of the respective problems;
- cooperation and formation of new partnerships with international organizations;
- creation of funds for the proposed activities on national and international level;
- professional consultative orientation of young people who suffer from epilepsy and other disabilities;
- organizing summer camps for children and parents;
- continuous improvement of the active members – professionals in this area regarding high professionalism and high quality activities by means of training, experience exchange both in the country and abroad;
- moral and material support on social and medical re/habilitation and social integration;
- social assistance, medical and juridical consultations, psychological family consulting.
