👉 Congratulations to Matteo Chiocca, a Bachelor's student specializing in Management of Luxury Tourism & Hospitality, who has been promoted to Analyst – Regional Destination Experiences at Silversea Cruises after completing his internship in Monaco.

His story perfectly illustrates the power of experiential learning and the value of the IUM network.

It all started when an IUM alumnus working at Silversea came to campus during the Career Week to share his professional journey. Inspired by the presentation, Matteo later applied for an internship through the IUM Alumni Intranet. A few months later, that internship became a full-time position.

His advice to future students?

[DBA Candidate Achievement]
👉 In July, Florian Kriechbaumer successfully defended his doctoral thesis entitled "From solitude to success: entrepreneurial mentorship configurations and their role in perceived progress of solo founders".

▪ The research examines the growing prevalence of solo founders within entrepreneurial ecosystems and investigates how these entrepreneurs can be more effectively mentored. Drawing on a qualitative comparative analysis of interviews conducted in UAE incubators, the study offers practical guidance for designing more effective mentoring programs.

▪ The jury and advisors commended the quality and depth of his research. The thesis was supervised by Drs. Mariateresa Torchia and Karine Raïes, with Drs. Carl Åberg and Francis Bidault , serving as external independent academic referees, and Dr. Hind Salih, DBA, as the professional expert on the subject. The jury was chaired by Dr. Domenico Campa.

👉 Congratulations to Dr. Padmaja Argade on the publication of her latest research article, "Matching Stigma Sources to Social Change Strategies: A Framework from FemTech Entrepreneurship," in the prestigious 4★ Academy of Management Perspectives, co-authored with Dr. Neva Bojovic and Dr. Rachel Braun Scherl.

▪ The study explores a key challenge faced by entrepreneurs operating in stigmatized markets such as FemTech. While stigma often reveals unmet societal needs and creates opportunities for innovation, it also generates significant barriers to growth and acceptance.

▪ Drawing on qualitative research conducted with U.S.-based FemTech ventures, the authors propose a new framework showing how entrepreneurs can tailor social change strategies to different sources of stigma. Their findings offer valuable insights into how innovation can reshape narratives, transform practices, and drive meaningful social impact.

👉 Choosing between two specialized tracks, Luxury Business & Communication and Sports Business Management, participants explored the industries that make Monaco a unique global hub through a combination of interactive courses, company projects, and inspiring guest lectures.
