Last Tuesday, the school organised a wonderful Reading Buddies session 📚
Our secondary pupils visited our nursery and reception classes to share the joy of reading. The older children took great pride in reading stories aloud, while the younger ones listened carefully and engaged with enthusiasm.
These special moments create a warm sense of community across the school, helping to build confidence, nurture a love of books, and develop important listening skills.
We are so proud of all our pupils for the kindness, responsibility, and enthusiasm they showed throughout the session. ✨

Year 7 proudly put their laboratory skills into practice by creating their own indicator and using it to investigate the pH of different chemicals. In a fun and engaging experiment, they discovered that their indicator was made from an unexpected natural ingredient — red cabbage.
This hands-on lesson gave students the opportunity to explore scientific concepts through practical investigation, while developing confidence, curiosity, and essential lab skills.

In their science lesson, Year 5 explored how substances can change when mixed together through a series of engaging practical activities. The children observed colour changes, heat, extreme cold, fluorescence, and even the process of making biodegradable plastic from cactus leaf juice. They also worked with conductive dough, using it to build circuits and adding coloured lights to complete them.
Alongside these exciting experiments, they learned how to work safely and responsibly during practical science activities. The lesson offered a valuable opportunity to develop scientific curiosity, observation skills, and confidence through hands-on learning.

Our Secondary students take part in sailing lessons at the Yacht Club de Monaco, where they develop confidence, teamwork, discipline, and resilience in an inspiring setting. Each session on the water encourages them to challenge themselves, support one another, and grow beyond the classroom.
At British School, we believe meaningful education also comes through real experiences that help students become confident, curious, and capable young individuals. We are proud to see them learning and thriving through this wonderful programme.

Year 9 History students are doing source analysis to answer the question: “Why did the Gallipoli Campaign fail?” As part of their WW1 unit, they are carefully examining different historical sources, comparing viewpoints, and building their own arguments — just like real historians.
This is a great example of how we develop critical thinking and independent research skills in our History lessons at the British School of Monaco.
