Marrakech, Casablanca, Fez....they'll always be worth seeing. But it's not where you go if you actually want to meet the real Morocco.
Mirleft is a small town on the coast where people aren't performing for tourists. The connections you make here are real. The food you eat is what people actually eat. The pace is slow enough that your kids can take it all in instead of just surviving it.
We've watched families arrive stressed because they had no understanding of the culture and leave soft because the community took them in. That's Mirleft doing what it does...because the town's slogan "Mirleft, Never Left" is real. Will you join our club?

Eight years ago, I pulled my kids out of the traditional school system to get away from school shooting threats, bullying, and issues like my son being told he couldn't check out a book he wanted to read from the school library because it was above his reading level. 🥴 We decided to try worldschooling because how much more could you learn through actual experiences?
Six years ago Morocco stopped feeling like a destination and started feeling like where we live.
My kids have grown up knowing what it means to be somewhere as a guest, to show up with respect and curiosity, and to build real friendships across language barriers and cultures. That didn't happen in a classroom. It happened in places like Mirleft.
That's what I want for your kids too. Someplace where they feel part of the community. That's what Mirleft Cultural Cove is truly for 🥰

Something that can happen while worldschooling is that it can be lonely.
Even if you're in a beautiful place and you and your kids are having incredible experiences, you might also be the only foreign family in the area who doesn't speak the language and isn't sure where to buy the things you need. As a single working parent, it can also feel like alot when you're trying to balance getting out and exploring the area vs. putting in work hours. Life on the road is beautiful but it's not always easy.
My experience as a single working parent is part of why I built Mirleft Cultural Cove Moroccan Worldschool Hub the way I did. We provide time for single parents to work while their kids are well taken care of and exploring the culture. It's a place where your family isn't just passing through, you're actually part of something; you're part of our big, chaotic, Moroccan family and the amazing community of Mirleft!
We have spots left in July. Come find your people and perhaps you'll join the "Mirleft Never Left" crew as well!

Before I left the US, I had no idea that living abroad long term would end up looking like regular life. Except regular life somewhere I never dreamed I could go. I bet most traveling families know what I mean.
You still have to figure out dinner. The kids still argue. Something always needs fixing. You still have hard days where everything feels too far away and too complicated.
But then you look up and you're in Morocco or someplace else you only imagined seeing someday. Maybe you're surrounded by people who've become your family. And somehow that makes all of it feel like exactly where you're supposed to be!

If you're wondering how to fill a week of summer break with something other than screens and the same old routine, here's an idea: bring the kids to Mirleft Cultural Cove Moroccan Worldschool Hub for a week!
July in Mirleft means warm days, ocean breezes, and a coastal town full of life. During the week, kids get to swim, learn about Moroccan culture, engage in the local community, try out new handcraft activities, and so much more!
For parents, it's a week where your kids are active and genuinely having fun, while picking up things no classroom or screen could teach them: cultural exchange, teamwork, independence, a little courage when trying something new.
One week. New skills, new experiences, and a part of Morocco most people never get to know!
Spots for July are filling up. If this sounds like your kind of summer, reach out and we'll get you sorted ❤❤

What I love most about Mirleft is the slowness of life here. There is something that feels timeless here, somewhere that reconnects us with our ancestors and old ways of life. While the rest of the world races toward more and more, this village continues to remind me of the beauty of simplicity.
Here learning comes from the rhythm of the village and the wisdom of elders. Many of us worldschooling families are looking to step away from the complexity of modern life and Mirleft is the perfect place to do this!
Morocco has taught my family that communication is about the heart even without a shared language. Mirleft offers a beautiful safety where the community acts as an extended family.💙
