In just over a decade, the renowned conqueror Alexander the Great achieved the remarkable feat of overthrowing the Persian Empire and establishing his own.
This narrative delves into four pivotal battles that played a crucial role in shaping this historic transformation.
1st The Battle of the Granicus (334 BC)
2nd The Battle of Issus (333 BC)
3rd The Siege of Tyre (332 BC)
4th The Battle of Gaugamela (331 BC)
Undoubtedly one of history's most celebrated figures, Alexander the Great earned admiration from luminaries such as Julius Caesar, Augustus, Frederick the Great, Napoleon, and Patton. Born in 356 BC in Pella, Alexander ascended to the throne of Macedonia, inheriting not only a highly skilled army but also his father's aspiration to vanquish Persia, the longstanding adversary of ancient Greece.
