Dans cet épisode d’Academic Chat, nous recevons notre vice-doyen Pr. khalid chegraoui pour une discussion autour de l’ouvrage collectif « Femmes et mineurs en migration : parcours, résistances, insertion », auquel il a contribué.

À partir de ses travaux de recherche, il revient sur les dynamiques migratoires au Maroc et analyse les réalités vécues par les femmes et les mineurs en migration. L’échange met en lumière les défis liés à la protection, à l’accès aux droits, à l’insertion sociale et économique, ainsi que les différentes stratégies de résilience développées par ces populations dans un contexte migratoire en constante évolution.

We were delighted to host the opening ceremony of the Summer School on Electoral Processes and International Human Rights Law, organized by the Faculty of Governance, Economics and Social Sciences (FGSES) at UM6P in partnership with the Fondation René Cassin - Institut International des Droits de l'Homme, the Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung für die Freiheit, and the National Human Rights Council (CNDH) - المجلس الوطني لحقوق الإنسان

The opening ceremony featured welcoming remarks by Karim El Aynaoui, Dean of FGSES and Executive Vice-President of UM6P, Amina Bouayach, President of the National Human Rights Council (CNDH), Birgit Lamm, Director of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, and Ameline Tison, Program Officer at the Fondation René Cassin, who highlighted the importance of strengthening knowledge and dialogue around democratic governance, electoral processes, and the promotion of human rights.

Taking place from June 8 to 14, the Summer School brings together participants from diverse backgrounds for an intensive week of learning and exchange. Through lectures, interactive modules, and discussions led by distinguished academics and practitioners, attendees will explore key issues related to electoral processes, democratic governance, and international human rights law.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our partners, speakers, and participants for contributing to this important initiative and wish everyone a fruitful and enriching week ahead.

The event featured opening remarks by our Dean, Mr. Karim El Aynaoui, and H.E. Alexandre Parola, Ambassador of Brazil to Morocco, who emphasized the importance of cultural exchange and cooperation between the two countries. The exhibition was presented by our colleague and artist Omar Laaouina, showcasing the richness of his work, while Professor Jamal MACHROUH and Vice-Dean khalid chegraoui highlighted the role of art in fostering dialogue and the Atlantic’s significance as a space of historical and cultural exchange.

The ceremony was further enriched by the presence of ambassadors from Mexico, Guatemala, Peru, and Panama, reinforcing its strong international dimension.

We were delighted to host the opening ceremony of the photography exhibition “Couleurs du Brésil” by Omar Laaouina on Thursday, May 7, at the UM6P Rabat campus, in collaboration with the Embassy of Brazil in Morocco and the Instituto Guimarães Rosa.

Opening remarks by our Dean, Mr. Karim El Aynaoui, and H.E. Alexandre Parola, Ambassador of Brazil to Morocco, emphasized the importance of cooperation and cultural exchange between the two countries. Omar Laaouina then took the floor to present his work, sharing the inspiration behind his photographs and offering a personal perspective on the richness, diversity, and contrasts of Brazilian culture captured through his lens. His intervention also highlighted subtle cultural resonances between Morocco and Brazil, reflected in artistic expressions and shared historical influences.

Professor Jamal MACHROUH and Vice-Dean khalid chegraoui further underscored the role of art in fostering dialogue, while highlighting the Atlantic’s historical and geographical significance as a space of exchange.

The ceremony was also marked by the presence of ambassadors from Mexico, Guatemala, Peru, and Panama, reinforcing its international dimension.

We are proud to share that Ms. Houyame HAKMI has successfully defended her Ph.D. thesis titled “The African Union’s Effectiveness in Preventing Intra-State Conflicts: A Case Study of Mali.”

Her research provides important insights into the role of regional organizations in conflict prevention and management in Africa, with a particular focus on the African Union’s mechanisms and interventions. Through an in-depth case study of Mali, her work examines the effectiveness, limitations, and challenges faced by the AU in addressing intra-state conflicts, while offering valuable perspectives for strengthening peace and security frameworks on the continent.

Congratulations to Ms. Houyame Hakmi on this significant academic achievement, and best wishes for continued success in her research and professional journey.

Le jeudi 9 avril, la Faculté de Gouvernance, Sciences Economiques et Sociales a organisé un Talent Matching Day, une initiative inédite au sein de la Faculté. À cette occasion, nos étudiants ont eu la possibilité de rencontrer les représentants de 33 institutions issues des secteurs public & privé et de participer à des entretiens directement sur place, dans un cadre structuré, professionnel et propice aux échanges de qualité.

Cette journée leur a permis de valoriser leurs profils, de mieux comprendre les attentes du marché du travail et d’échanger sur les opportunités de stages et les perspectives de carrière. Elle a également favorisé des interactions concrètes entre étudiants et recruteurs, contribuant ainsi à renforcer leur insertion professionnelle et leur préparation au monde du travail.
