✨ Day Two – 4th Doctoral Spring School
The second day of the 4th International Doctoral Spring School in Human and Social Sciences deepened our collective engagement with one central question: How do we work with uncertainty rather than against it?
Moving beyond conceptual discussions, participants explored the methodological, ethical, and epistemological implications of uncertainty in doctoral research. Through interactive workshops and collaborative exchanges, uncertainty was reframed — not as a weakness, but as a productive analytical force.
Doctoral researchers shared fieldwork experiences, confronted research dilemmas, and strengthened their capacity for reflexive and interdisciplinary thinking. The day embodied what rigorous scholarship demands: dialogue, intellectual courage, and critical depth.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the President of Mohammed V University in Rabat for his support and trust in this initiative, which continue to strengthen its institutional foundation and long-term vision. We also warmly thank the Dean of the Faculty of Educational Sciences for his sustained engagement across all four editions. Their commitment has been instrumental in ensuring the continuity and academic excellence of this Doctoral Spring School.
As this 4th edition concluded, what remains is more than memory — it is momentum. A new generation of scholars leaves not only with sharper tools, but with a strengthened conviction that uncertainty is not a barrier to knowledge but one of its most powerful engines.

✨ Throwback to the First Day of the 4th Doctoral Spring School
On February 12–13, the Moroccan Institute for Advanced Studies proudly organized the 4th edition of the International Spring School for Doctoral Students in Human and Social Sciences, hosted at the Centre de Formation Tout au Long de la Vie.
The Doctoral Spring School has become a structured and institutionally anchored event within our academic calendar — a space where intellectual rigor meets collective reflection.
This year’s edition focused on a timely and thought-provoking theme: “Uncertainty as a Method for Preparing Doctoral Students.” Rather than seeking to eliminate uncertainty, the program invited participants to engage with it critically, methodologically, and responsibly.
The richness of the program reflected this ambition, combining keynote lectures, interdisciplinary panels, and hands-on workshops. What distinguishes this initiative is that doctoral students are not passive listeners — they are active contributors and central actors in the learning process.
By fostering adaptive thinking, ethical awareness, and methodological clarity, the Doctoral Spring School contributes to shaping a generation of researchers capable of navigating complexity and producing knowledge that is both rigorous and socially meaningful.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the President for his trust and continued support. The presence of the representative of UM5R further underscores the importance of sustained institutional commitment to the intellectual development of our doctoral community.
Stay tuned for more highlights from this enriching experience! 🌿📚
