The English Teacher Internship Initiative (ETII) is a fully funded, non-profit teacher training program supported by the American Cultural Association and the American Language Centers (ALC).
Program Structure
• Semester 1: Theoretical teacher training based on the Cambridge TKT curriculum, hands-on micro-teaching sessions, and lesson planning practice.
• Semester 2: Practical teaching internship for adult English learners (40, 70, or 100 hours, per week).

Anissa says:
Today marked the final day of my internship. I completed all of my required teaching hours and delivered my final lesson. To introduce and contextualize the target language, I used an auction game, which was the last game we played during this internship. I wrote several sentences containing the target language on the board and divided the class into three groups. Each group received €1,500 in paper money (fifteen €100 notes). The students used the money to bid on the sentences they believed were factually correct. Although all of the sentences were grammatically correct, some contained true facts while others contained false information. The activity allowed the students to learn in a fun and interactive way while reinforcing the target language in a meaningful context.

At the end of the lesson, I said goodbye to my students. I presented personalized appreciation letters to the students who had been consistently serious, engaged, and hardworking throughout the internship. Afterwards, the students shared their feedback about my teaching and expressed their thoughts and feelings. The final session was very emotional, but it was a beautiful and memorable way to end my internship.

Today’s session with our ETII trainer was a valuable feedback and reflection session. The class started with a warm welcome from our trainer, followed by a discussion where each trainee shared their teaching experience during the internship so far. We talked about the atmosphere in our classes, the different challenges we face, and the experiences we are gaining as future teachers.

After that, our trainer distributed individual reports for each trainee. The reports included three main sections: general notes about the class, good practices observed, and areas for improvement. We were also given the opportunity to reflect on our areas of improvement and discuss how we can continue developing our teaching practices.

The session was both insightful and motivating.

Thank you to our trainer for the constructive feedback and guidance.

Safae’s English sessions with Pre-A1 adult beginners ~~~

Safae has a class of just 4 students, which allows for a very focused and supportive learning environment. The latest two sessions placed emphasis on drilling, repetition, and building confidence in speaking through regular practice.

Additionally, the lessons covered practical everyday topics such as food, ordering at a restaurant, and daily routines, helping learners develop simple and effective communication skills for real life situations.

Today’s class was full of energy and interaction ✨

Anissa says: We started with a fun warm-up to get students moving, followed by a quick review of the previous lesson. Then we explored clothes vocabulary through real-life context by asking students what they are wearing and sharing answers together.

Students practiced through activities, including walking around the class, observing their classmates, and reporting back using sentences like “He/She is wearing…”.

Next, we introduced prepositions of place using The Total Physical Response approach, students were required to follow some instructions such as "put your hands under the table if you love cats", "stand behind the chair if you like coffee". To present the prepositions, I showed them a picture of the Moroccan football team. Students described positions of their fav players like Achraf Hakimi and Yassine Bounou, their answers were like "Bono is between this and that.." making learning meaningful and fun.

We ended with a short time-filler activity. in which students shared their thoughts and perspective.

Mohammed’s class was about conditional sentences, but it quickly turned into something much more dynamic than a typical grammar lesson. The session revolved around exploring real-life situations, facts, future plans, dreams, and even regrets..through meaningful communication. Students moved from simple ideas like “If it rains…” to more complex reflections like “If I had studied…”, gradually building their understanding while actually using the language. The focus wasn’t just on form, but on meaning and personal expression, making the grammar feel relevant and alive.

The vibe in the classroom was energetic and highly interactive, with students constantly speaking, reacting, and engaging with each other. There was laughter, debate, and genuine curiosity as they shared their thoughts and challenged one another. Mohammed created a space where students felt comfortable taking risks, and that confidence showed in their enthusiasm. By the end of the session, the classroom felt less like a lesson and more like a conversation hub, where English was being used naturally, not just practiced.

Anissa says : Today’s session, although small in number, was full of energy and enthusiasm. The students were highly interactive, motivated, and genuinely eager to learn, creating a very positive atmosphere.

We learned expressions for saying goodbye, how to express interest (like saying “it’s interesting”), the difference between “a” and “an,” and vocabulary related to classroom objects and what students usually carry in their bags.

To wrap up, we did a fun time-filler activity with imaginative questions, and the students engaged with it enthusiastically.

This was Anisa’s fourth session, and it’s great to see their growing motivation and participation.
