Someone starts speaking to you in Arabic and you start curling over already. If you don’t know what to say, start with some of these greetings…

⁠ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ – peace be upon you

⁠⁠⁠مَرْحَبًا، أَهْلًا بِكُمْ جَمِيعًا – hello, welcome everyone

مَرْحَبًا، أَهْلًا بِكَ / مَرْحَبًا، أَهْلًا بِكِ – hello, welcome (male / female)

صَبَاحَ الْخَيْرِ → صَبَاحَ النُّورِ – good morning

مَسَاءَ الْخَيْرِ → مَسَاءَ النُّورِ – good evening

اسْمِي – my name is…

مَا اسْمُكَ؟ / مَا اسْمُكِ؟ – what is your name? (male / female)

كَيْفَ حالُكَ؟ / كَيْفَ حالُكِ؟ – how are you? (male / female)

أَنَا بِخَيْرٍ، الْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ – I am well, praise be to God

مِنْ أَيْنَ أَنْتَ؟ / مِنْ أَيْنَ أَنْتِ؟ – where are you from? (male / female)
