The Brunch Talk The Brunch Talk is a radio show that tackles serious matters and controversial topics in a humorous way that allows listeners to share their opinions.

The show will be mainly directed at a young audience, speaking in English and interested in different controversial topics. Most people our age are regarded as fickle, when we know that here at AUI at least, extremely diverse people come together to discuss their ideas on very serious matters. Our show aims at providing a platform for AUI students (or others) to express their opinions on topics that interest them, or even learn about things that they weren’t aware of to begin with. We intend to adopt the format of famous shows like:
• The Daily Show With Jon Stewart (Trevor Noah)
• The Colbert Report
• Last Week Tonight With John Oliver
These shows may not be what we conventionally call news shows, but they can have gained immense popularity for a very simple reason. They don’t talk down to their audience, they tackle very serious subjects but also manage to throw a little humor in there, they are not afraid to talk about certain taboos, and they do their research and they do it well. The key is to provide information that at the same time: can introduce someone who had never heard of the subject to the issue, and provide a new perspective and insightful details to those who already know of the issue.
