Tips to Deal with a Chatty or Distracted student:
1.Speak privately, not publicly: Avoid embarrassing them; talk calmly one to one.
2.Set clear rules early: Make expectations explicit and apply them fairly.
3.Involve them: Give small leadership roles to channel their energy positively.
4.Vary the activity: Chatty students often talk out of boredom, use games, group tasks, or movement.
5.Reward positive behavior: Praise focus and self-control.
6.Stay patient and consistent: Predictability builds respect and self-discipline.
Plan B: If the above doesn’t work
1.Change seating position: Move the student closer to you or away from talkative peers.
2.Redirect energy: Ask them to write ideas instead of speaking during explanations.
3.Involve parents or administration: Address the issue collaboratively, not punitively.
4.Create a behavior contract: Agree on goals, consequences, and rewards in writing.
5.Show empathy: Try to understand underlying causes, sometimes it’s attention-seeking or outside stress.

Reading comprehension suggested tasks:
==>Note: The tasks must be leading comprehension questions that support the text type identification, the target language forms and pave the way to the ‘Read and Consider’ sessions.
1-Text layout is the way the content is arranged.
2-Specific information refers to particular answers (facts, numbers …)
3-Text type characteristics refer to specific language used in different types of texts which help identify their purpose (to describe, to narrate…).
