Boubker Mazoz, President of Sister Cities Casablanca Chicago, Fatima- Zahra Guedira, SCCC Vice President and Julie Stagliano, Co-Chair of Casablanca Committee in Chicago, met with Nicole Theriot, US Consul General in Casablanca, on March 10th, 2017. They discussed the ongoing activities between the two cities, such as, Stevens Initiative STEAMuseum Project between High school students in Casablanca and Chicago, Social Work Exchange, Young Global Ambassadors and 2017 Chicago Forum on Global Cities in June. They also briefed the CG on some upcoming events, such as, the celebration of the 35th Anniversary of Sister Cities Casablanca Chicago, the potential exchange of architects between schools of architecture in both cities and American artists at residence in Casablanca. The CG promised to support the association and the committee in reinforcing the economic and business relations and help consolidate the cultural,artistic and educational exchanges between Casablanca and Chicago.

Casablanca Chicago Sister Cities Association, in collaboration with Neighborhoods Association Idmaj, organized the second edition of the Social Exchange program in Morocco, from
September 22 to 30, 2016

Eight Moroccan social workers visited Chicago in the summer of 2015 and visited each juvenile detention centers, and prisons, in addition to juvenile courts, youth rehabilitation centers and orphanages in an effort to assist each other's cities in addressing their juvenile delinquency problems. In September 2016, five American social workers, university professors and researchers, all experts in social work had meetings with Moroccan Delegation of Prisons and Reinsertion officials, Mohammed VI Foundation for Reinsertion of Prisoners, CNDH, Mama Assia, Le Relais, the Observatory of Prisons and many other experts to learn from the Moroccan experience and practices.
