Good communication is the cornerstone of the flourishing of any relationship, whether familial or professional. For this reason, each one of us should acquire the skill of being a good communicator.
There are four steps people should follow to obtain this skill. First, before blurting out something they may regret later, they should contemplate the kind of relationship between the sender and the listener. Besides this, they should consider the atmosphere of the setting where the conversation is taking place. Second, none can deny the importance of body language during the delivery of the message. For example, eye contact is a way to establish the trust link between the sender and listener. Sitting with crossed arms and hunched shoulders implies indifference and unwillingness to converse. In addition, to meet the goals that people expect from each conversation, they should lend their ears to their counterparts, not to get their wires crossed, because every good conversation has a good listener. Finally, to alleviate any problem, people shouldn't be narrow-minded. They should be open to others' ideas and try to stand in others' shoes.
In conclusion, the best communicators are people who know when they should speak and how they should mouth their message.
