Patterns are everywhere! 🔴🟡🔵

Our children explored color patterns by carefully observing, identifying, and reproducing different sequences. What may look like a simple activity is actually helping to develop important early mathematical and cognitive skills.

By recognizing and recreating patterns, children strengthen their concentration, logical thinking, visual discrimination, and problem-solving abilities. They learn to predict what comes next, a key foundation for later learning in mathematics and literacy.

Most importantly, they had fun experimenting with colors while building confidence in their own abilities!

Behind every end-of-year show is a lot of teamwork! 🌿✨

Across all classes and age groups, our children are busy preparing for our big performance; The enchanted forest, a Finnish tale. From practicing songs and dances to helping create decorations, costumes, everyone plays a part.

At Loppsi, we believe that learning happens together. Teachers, staff, and children work side by side, sharing ideas, creativity, and responsibility. The result is more than a beautiful show—it's a community where everyone contributes and feels valued.

🌿🌳 Our new theme is The Forest! 🌳🌿

Today, our little explorers discovered the beauty of nature through art. They painted leaves and used them to make beautiful leaf prints.

Through this activity, they learned:
🍃 About the different shapes and textures of leaves
🎨 How to create prints using natural materials
✋ Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
🌱 An appreciation for the natural world around them

Learning is always more fun when little hands can explore, create, and discover!

🏖️ For today’s outdoor activity, instead of bringing sand into the classroom, we went directly to the beach to explore it in its natural environment! 🌊

The children enjoyed freely playing with the sand while discovering the difference between dry and wet sand. As they dug deeper, they noticed the sand becoming wet, which sparked lots of curiosity, questions, and excitement to explore even more. ✨

The children also experimented with building sandcastles and enthusiastically joined a little treasure hunt adventure hidden in the sand. A beautiful day full of sensory exploration, teamwork, creativity, and discovery through play! 🌞🐚

🌬️ Exploring science through play ✨

Today, we made colorful windmills to discover how air can affect movement and matter. Through observation, testing, and creativity, the children explored how something invisible like wind can create motion and energy. Watching their windmills spin brought excitement, curiosity, and lots of joyful learning moments! 💨🌀

Today, we explored a simple and magical science experiment with colorful tissue paper worms 🌈🪱💧

The children carefully observed the worms before and after adding water, watching them slowly stretch and “move” as the paper absorbed the water. A beautiful moment of discovery that encouraged curiosity, observation, and understanding of cause and effect through hands-on learning and play ✨
