You could be in a job doing something you don’t really want to do for someone you don’t like.

If you’re in this situation, then the probability for it to change for the better is found in how you react to it: You could 1) complain about what’s supposedly holding you back (your boss, your environment, the economy…), 2) drown in self-pity and blame yourself for what happens to you, or 3) you’re doing everything you can to get out of your predicament, as in, you’re using every bit of free time to work on your projects.

The bottom line is, your reaction is a manifestation your character: You either think you’re a victim of your environment or your insufficiency and would rather play the blame game, or you make do with the set of cards you've been dealt to make the most of your situation, no matter what your starting point is. Needless to say, there’s only one viable path.

And that’s the one I wish you’d take. For those reasons, I made it my priority to publish a range of personal growth and essential life skills training courses on Udemy to help you break free from your victim mindset. For more information, check out www.soufianealaoui.com

15 years. That’s how long I haven’t spoken in Spanish.

So the first time I thought about publishing a course (on the topic of emotional intelligence no less), I thought to myself that I was being delusional.

There’s always a critical, anxiety-inducing voice in the back of our head that reminds us that what we set our eyes on is not meant for us. That we wouldn’t be up to par in some capacity, that trying would be pointless anyways, that the end result would be full of faults...

Whenever we let that voice win our internal dialogues, it only shrinks the part that represents everything we could have been. Yeah sure, that’s what I always say in my classes. Yet here I was, struggling with my own negative self-talk, feeling like a snake biting its own tail by reveling in my own unworthiness.

So I put this project to rest and went back to preparing other courses in self-confidence or procrastination. My comfort zone, you guessed it. But the thought of being published in Spanish just kept coming back knocking. Not in a guilt inducing way, no. I just had a voice that reminded me that I went from being a private equity manager / CFA Charterholder to a published instructor having my own practice and more than 3000 students following me. That sometimes, being “delusional” preceded any creative process that could put us on a fulfilling path.

So instead, I reframed it as having a vision and understood that I lacked only in resolve and intention. From then on, I started believing that having studied Spanish for a mere 2 years some 15 years ago would be enough to publish a 2 hours course on my favorite topic should I put my mind into it. So I did, and started reading articles in Spanish everyday, mumbling some words out lout to figure out how ridiculous I would sound. And I kept it up for days, until I felt ready...

Today, I proudly give you my latest contribution to Udemy, my first Spanish course that allows me to be published in 3 languages on the platform: https://www.udemy.com/course/inteligencia-emocional-t/?referralCode=149EB9169459254B8613

You thought about starting your own business a while ago. And yet, here we are.

Many of us believe they want to become entrepreneurs. But they don’t want it bad. They just kind of want it. Sometimes out of spite because they’re dissatisfied in their job and don’t want to be bossed around anymore. Others have genuinely useful projects they could bring onto the world. But sadly, they never actually move forward with their ideas. And in the aftermath, they’ll make up excuses to justify their apathy rather than self-reflect and figure out why we didn’t take any initiative for years on end.

Commitment, discipline, resiliency, overcoming your fears... That’s what it takes to put yourself out there. And understandably, many fall back on their safety cushion, and stay in a job where they sometimes feel miserable, yet have a bit of security.

I hope this video helps you realize that there’s a version of you beyond your excuses that is bound for a self-defined career and greatness. Incidentally, I made it my priority to publish a range of personal growth and essential life skills training courses on Udemy to help you reach for your goals. Are you a quiet quitter? Or just demotivated by the toxicity of your workplace?

We’re often oblivious to the methods or personality traits of our managers or colleagues that compromise the quality of our work environment.

Right now, you could work for someone who’s making commitments on deadlines on your behalf without figuring out what is reasonably doable for you, who interrupts you while you’re working to check on what you’re doing and pressure you with additional deliverables, who won’t step in to give you a helping hand and over-delegate everything in spite of your workload, who’s seldom given you a positive feedback but can easily criticize you…

Maybe you’re working with someone who’s competitive to a fault, who’s eyeing a management position and who talks behind your back to disparage you or your accomplishments.

So if you’re agreeable and try to do your best by becoming a yes-person, you’ll inevitably start dealing with a pressure that could either lead to your burnout, or to a complete demotivation that will be labelled as quiet quitting.

For those reasons, I made it my priority to publish a range of personal growth and essential life skills training courses on Udemy to help you recognize and deal with those work environments. For more information, check out www.soufianealaoui.com

You’ve been putting off something you know you should do.

Starting your business, quitting a bad habit, calling a close relative... We never feel pressured to reach for our goals without a deadline, until we’re hit with the unfortunate consequences of our inaction. And in the aftermath, we blame our job, our relationships, or any other scapegoat to justify why things went south.

Hunter Thompson used to say that “A man who procrastinates in his choosing will inevitably have his choice made for him by circumstance”. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

For those reasons, I made it my priority to publish a range of personal growth and essential life skills training courses on Udemy to help you with your career and self-confidence problems. For more information on my work, visit www.soufianealaoui.com

Your career advancement is hindered by your fears of gaining more exposure or taking on more responsibility.

And there are 2 main reasons for that, you either
1. Lack the healthy self-esteem necessary to take on a new position or new initiatives because you feel like you don’t have it in you, or
2. The standards you use to evaluate yourself are unrealistic so you’re too hard on yourself and quickly feel overwhelmed by your inadequacies.

In either cases is deeply rooted a sense of unworthiness that you’ve carried with you for a while which devalues your skills and accomplishments, hence suffering from imposter syndrome. But your inner dialogues don’t always have to tilt towards self-depreciation, for you’re only one thought away from rebuilding your confidence at any given moment.

For those reasons, I made it my priority to publish a range of personal growth and essential life skills training courses on Udemy to help you with your career and self-confidence problems : https://soufianealaoui.com/en/training

Are you in a toxic relationship ?

Now that's something you should really ponder. Most people in dysfunctional setups are looking for the scarce moments that make them feel good, where the other displays affection, intimacy or validation.

But that's the thing: they're looking to feel good. Regardless of how they're treated in the process of reaching that high. So in the process, they tolerate behaviors and attitudes that are predicated upon guilt, blame, emotional manipulation and enmeshment, and fail to understand their responsibility in the process of creating such an unhealthy setup.

Your boss or your workplace isn't the only reason why you're stressed.

Your lack of assertiveness that keeps you from negotiating better deadlines, your agreeableness that turns you into a yes-person carrying an unreasonable workload over time, your lack of organization that keeps you from prioritizing, your self-doubt that demeans what you think you could achieve, are all as valid a reason as what you deem to be a tyrannical micromanager.

But it's easier to overlook our own shortcomings and blame our workplace, rather than embark on a journey of self-reflection.

With Amphy's amazing team, we've put together this trailer to help you gain more perspective on what triggers your anxiety, and compiled all the relevant live classes that you can book on https://www.amphy.com/hosts/soufiane-e?host_id=625e6e4c-bfa5-4274-8d95-2f505c8cc430
