We use do / does to make questions and negative sentences.

Examples with questions.

- Do I need to work hard for my exams?

- Do you need something for the party?

- Does she know about all that?

- Does he feel good about this step?

- Does it sounds logical?

- Do they know about this plan?

-Do we intend to reveal everything about this incident?

- Examples with negative sentences ( using contracted forms)

- I don't know much about him

We use the present simple to talk about things in general. We use it to dicuss things which happen all the time or repeatedly. We aslo use for things that are true.

Ex : He likes Italian food.

Ex : He usually gets up late.

Ex : They love spaghetti.

Ex : We open at 8:30 in the morning.

We use the present simple when we want to talk about someone's job.

Ex : Jack is a bus driver. ( explanation : karim works as a bus driver. This is something he does on a regular basis. We always use the present simple in such cases.

Ex 1 : Samira works as bank manager.

For more examples and explanations about the use of the present continuous when talking about an action that has already started and still in progress around the present or future.

Ex 1 : Mounir wants to work in France, so he's learning French. ( Explanation : the action of learning started in the past but still in progress in the present )

Ex 2 : Some friends of mine are working on their project. They hope to achieve their goals next summer. ( Explanation: the action of working started in the past and still not finished. It's in progress.

Ex 3 : They're writing a novel. I hope their work will be a great success . Ex : The action of writing has already started and still in progress.

Always with the present continuous.

We use the present continuous to talk about an action that is not happening at the moment of speaking.

Ex : I'm reading a really good novel at the moment.

( Notice here we have a clue which is " at the moment " ,and that particular clue helps us to know that we are talking about the present. Our role now is to understand that we are talking about an unfinished action which normally takes some time. We already know that the present continuous is linked with a duration or a period of time around the present. Therefore, we use the present continuous to Express an action that still in progress. Whenever you see " at the moment " ,use the present continuous and not the present simple.

Using the Present Continuous with Today, this week or this year.

We use the present Continuous with those terms to refer to periods around now.

Ex ( conversation between Adam and Rahma)

Adam : You're studying hard today.

Rahma : Yes, I have a lot to do.

The term " Today " refers to the present. The action of studying is usually long not short. You cannot say " You study hard today". This is wrong, as the action of studying is linked to a long period of time during a day. Notice here we have the subject " you". We use 'are' as an auxiliary and not " is". It's something I already explained and you have the material that explains that.
