Transferring University Credits


The first thing that kept haunting our minds is the moment when we arrived in Malaysia; the management of the university transfer credit. This is always the tough things to do as we need to receive the green light from the departments before further procedures, and surely it is a time consuming process


After running here and there to every departments, the office of Deputy Dean of Academic Affairs (DDAA), International Office (IO), meeting the Head of Department (HOD) for almost a week, we finally get the authorization signed on the paper, Alhamdulillah! After all the painful hard work, paid off

5 Feb 2020. FINALLY, COME BACK HOME! 🇲🇾

After a 12 hours ++ flight from Casablanca, Morocco then transit at Oman, we finally arrived our hometown Malaysia!


What a feeling when you are being able to set foot and returned back to your beloved country, Malaysia


Overall, we were very happy and thankful that we are chosen to be part of this IIUM-AMPRO Morocco's journey. The 10 of us were very thankful and lucky to know each other and we could say that we were the best roommates anyone could ask for, of course!


We went to the each corner of Morocco together from the sand dunes, to cities surrounded by a dry landscape, to the souq buying everyday's need, we cook together and we're always together in the good and hard times as our tagline - We're all in this together!

Goodbye, Beni Mellal 🇲🇦


So here comes the end of our journeys in Morocco. The last few weeks staying there went by too fast. Our schedules are strictly packed, juggling with the exams, packing the things and houseworks that need to be settled within less than a week! Can you imagine how we had been going through in the last few weeks there? It was obviously exhausting but we had fun


On our very last night in Beni Mellal, the ten of us had a dinner with our asatizah at the same restaurant when we first arrived there. We had a very good time sharing and exchanging our thoughts and shared their some valuable advises from our asatizah


The next day, a lot of people came to our house to help us with the cleaning and packing our luggage. They were so thoughtful, right? May Allah bless them


Last but not least, a huge thanks to our host parents (Ummi Hafizah & Abi Widadi), our asatizah, the khuya at souq and all of the residents of Beni Mellal who willingly help and took care of us with an endless love during our stay there. Because of them, we can adapt well during our good and hard times there, we learned a lot each and every seconds here in Beni Mellal, Morocco

Morocco update 🇲🇦


The vice president of USMS, Dr Ziyad, visited us during our Islamic Aqidah class. After a short discussion with him, a formal visit to Kuliyah of Adab, University Sultan Moulay Slimane, was held on the next day


(Kuliyah of Adab is in a place different from the building where we often have our classes at)



The meeting was attended by the university's board of directors and lecturers of Arabic language and literature


As the meeting concluded, we were brought around the kuliyah to see the environment and facilities the university offers. Alhamdulillah we now know how the language center, library and classes in Kuliyah of Adab looks like 😉 a great experience

Morocco update 🇲🇦


Dar as-Saqafah: a building similar to Istana Budaya in the small town of Beni Mellal, Morocco. This building serves as a vessel for various events such as Maulidur Rasul celebration. Within its walls too, resides a handsome art gallery, completing its charm


Alhamdulillah, in conjunction with the Prophet's maulid, ten of us along with our beloved lecturers, Ustazah Fatimah Az-zahra and Ghizlan, attended an event organised specifically to remember and commemorate our Prophet PBUH at Dar As-Saqafah. The ceremony began with a sermon from an ustaz about the Prophet PBUH followed by enrapturing qasidahs and nasyids. The event ended with presentation of gifts in conjunction with a competition that was held before the event

After three weeks since we arrived in Beni Mellal, Morocco, we alhamdulillah finally get to attend our first class. However, we are still in discussion with the university regarding our classes and subjects. We hope we will receive good news from the university regarding the class schedule soon. Do pray for us❤️

We found a small shop with lotsss of books here, in the market streets. Since Morocco is known as “gedung ilmu”, buying arabic books here is definitely worth the money as the books are sold with really really low prices. Although the books at the shop in the picture are second hand books, for us, they looked like gems. Gems of knowledge

Morocco update 🇲🇦


Since our class did not start yet, we were invited by the representatives of Malaysian Student Association in Rabat, Morocco to explore Rabat.

Bro Irfan, Sis Aminah and Sis Balqis guided our journey in Rabat. Most of the time, we walked to reach our desired destinations but sometimes we rode trams which cost 6MAD per person for each ride


Alhamdulillah we were blessed with memorable views at all of the places that we went such as: Hassan II Tower, Kasbah of the Udayas and Suwaiqah (Pasar Payang Moroccan style). We even get to ride a small boat and witnessed the dazzling lights and soothing air of the capital city of Morocco, Rabat.

Throughout our stay in Rabat, the weather was nice and cool. It was around 25 degrees celcius. A contrast to the weather in Beni Mellal


Alhamdulillah and again, Alhamdulillah. Our utmost appreciation and gratitude towards all Rabat students for their warm welcome and gracious hospitality. One fine day, if given the opportunity, let’s meet again! 😍

Morocco Update 🇲🇦


We contacted and met a friend of our friend who lives in Beni Mellal. Meeting her in Mcdonalds, Sumayyah is very friendly, informative and helpful. The meeting led us to Ain Asurdun (عين أسوردون), which we took around 3 minutes to arrive there by taxi (10 MAD)

On the way back, she let us walk halfway before taking a taxi. The walk was very beautiful and we met many people. We were sad to separate from her but promised to meet again❤️

الجار قبل الدار❤️

Here in Beni Mellal, it is such a small town that we have to be careful for 24 hours especially when we go out. Thieves are everywhere and we have to move in a group. Not only that, the prices here will be higher when they know we are not Moroccan citizens. Most of them speak Darija (arabic+france). Not many of them can understand and can speak arabic fusha well. Alhamdulillah, some of them can speak fusha well, and so far, we can communicate well with the locals here

We are very grateful with the presence of our neighbours, who are friends of Dr. Aziz. We are treated nicely by Abi Widadi and Ummi Hafizah. They take good care of us as if we are their own children. They helped us in completing our basic necessities such as buying kitchen appliances, buying our sim card and even in printing our documents.

Morocco Update 🇲🇦


24 & 25th September 2019:

By the grace of Allah, our journey to Morocco began. We departed from Malaysia on 9.30 am.
A big thanks to our families and friends that come on that day❤️


Transit at Muscat, Oman 🇴🇲

After 6 hours++ on the flight, we arrived at Muscat airport. We felt like the day was sooo long as it took 12 hours to wait for the next flight which was on midnight, Oman time. Since the currency of Oman is too high, RM10 is equal to 1 Oman Riyal, we decided to only stay at the airport


Arrived at Casablanca, Morocco 🇲🇦

Alhamdulillah, we arrived at Muhammad V airport on 7.15 am, which is 7 hours behind Malaysian time. We were warmly welcomed by Dr. Aziz and Dr. Idris, lecturers of University of Sultan Moulay Slimane, Beni Mellal. Then, we head off to Beni Mellal, Morocco by a mini bus, and experienced our 1st glimpse of Moroccan life. After 6 hours, we arrived at the place we will be living in for around 5 months, our new ‘home’

Here’s to a new family, new experiences and a new life!
