I went to the job fair at casino atlantique palace last November and never got a call back for an interview. Then I attended the AKK Casino Dealer Academy. I put that on my resume and resubmitted . I now am certified in Black Jack, Novelty games and am currently finishing the Craps class. some casinos in angland recently called me and asked me to come in for an audition. If you were to tell me last year that come the summer of 2013, I would be a professional dealer, working at a real casino, I would have laughed at you and walked away. All my life, I have known nothing but hard work and getting dirty, to make a living. But recently, my uncle told me that table games were coming to akka academy and he knew of a dealer school that was opening up at the Emerate . When I went to check it out and talk to the owners of the school, I was instantly hooked, knowing that I could possibly have a career without killing myself every day. I took the Black Jack class and then the novelty games. I am finishing the Craps class soon and I already have been hired to work at Akka For me, it’s like hitting the lottery. The people at the school are incredible and work with you until you are 100% ready to work in the casino. They let me stay late, worked one on one with me, until I was confident in what I was doing. I started taking classes at the Academy in March of 2013. I got my certificate in Black Jack, eight weeks later. I then enrolled in the Novelty Games and got that certificate as well. I am currently taking the craps class. The academy has provided me with all the necessary skill sets to work in a world class casino. Although I am still taking classes at akka academy, I have already been hired by a Casino, and start working this week. I cannot believe that in such a short period of time and very little money, my whole life and career has changed forever. The school will prepare you for the best job you could ever imagine. All of the staff and students there are like one big family. Everyone helps everyone. We work as a team. It is the most fun and the best move I have ever made.
