As an American citizen and the Head of a school here in Morocco, I am posting this today with a profound sense of disappointment in my own countryβs diplomatic system. I am incredibly proud of the young minds I work with, but witnessing this level of systemic failure from the U.S. Embassy is unacceptable.
One of my most brilliant 14-year-old students from Agadir has been invited to join a diverse Brainlyne student delegation for a highly prestigious, formal educational formation at Harvard University.
For this student, Harvard is not just any university it is his absolute dream school. He has worked tirelessly for years with the hope of one day walking its halls, and he was incredibly eager to finally visit the campus, experience its academic environment, and learn from top instructors. To have his dream within arm's reach, only to be blocked by an arbitrary calendar backlog, is utterly heartbreaking.
This is a direct invitation for a structured academic program that strictly begins on July 21, 2026. Despite this, the U.S. Embassy in Casablanca has assigned a visa appointment for September 21, 2026 a full two months after the program starts. The entire delegation is effectively being blocked from participating.
What deeply frustrates me as an American is the complete lack of human judgment and communication. The system seems perfectly happy to prioritize automated queues and sports visitors via the FIFA PASS, yet it completely abandons the academic futures of young international leaders. To make matters worse, our desperate attempts to communicate have hit a brick wall. Urgent emails to both [email protected] and [email protected] have gone completely unanswered. No feedback. No help. Just silence.
An embassy should build bridges through education, not block them with bureaucracy. We are demanding an immediate, human-led review of the Brainlyne Student Delegation case to grant priority scheduling so this young man can fulfill his dream.
Please share and tag the media and officials below. We need someone to wake up and fix this. πΊπΈπ²π¦π
