English Language Department is considered as one of the first departments that were established at the beginning of establishing Al-Refak University for applied and human sciences in 2003, and in response to the requirements of the work market, and providing the qualified cadres in the fields of language, its literatures and its various arts, and the department started with a limited number of stu
dents. The duration of study in the department is eight semesters, and the English language department aims at graduation of those who are specialized in the field of English language, its literatures and its various arts through an accurate scientific methodology aiming at qualification of the students scientifically and mentally in the field of English language as would be suitable with the local and international work market, providing the students with the continuous self education abilities and capability of analyzing the problems, making decisions and giving opportunities for a continuous education to the graduates in the higher level of education, developing the society as a source of experience that is specialized in various fields of the foreign languages, in addition to offering training and consulting services in the field of education of English language, translation, and performing the other scientific activities such as the scientific meetings, forums and scientific conferences in the service of the society and participation by the department in offering the linguistic, literary capabilities, translation and many others. The English language department and literatures is looking for development and uprising the activities and programs of the department for achieving the pioneering at all levels, therefore, the Department reevaluate periodically its study plan, research priorities and its organizational structure for convoying the knowledge and the continues progress at the international level.
