Trying to improve English language performance, "English at Home" is a page and a Radio Programme on 99.9 FM Misurata, where we publish English language material to help learners understand and learn. We are trying to help pupils, students, teachers and all learners of English to find the page and the Radio Programme useful and beneficial.

هل تحبون اللون الأحمر؟هذا المنظر المذهل من غابة في سويسرا..!كثير هو الكلام عن اللون الأحمر ولكن هو أكثر الألوان استخداما...

هل تحبون اللون الأحمر؟
هذا المنظر المذهل من غابة في سويسرا..!
كثير هو الكلام عن اللون الأحمر
ولكن هو أكثر الألوان استخداما في الإشارة إلى الخطر عدا كونه يمثل المشاعر القوية كالحب و الفرح والسعادة..
ويستخدم في التحذير والإنذار بل والطرد كما في كرة القدم .. وهو يدل على الخطر كما في الإشارات الضوئيه وعلامات الخطر المروريه ..
والسبب هو أنه ملفت للإنتباه ..
وله الكثير من الإستعمالات الأخرى في التلوين كطلاء الأظافر مثلا وغيرها كثير ..
ورغم اختلاف مدلوله في بعض الثقافات مثل في جنوب أفريقيا يعبر عن الحداد والحزن وفي روسيا رمز الشيوعيه وقد يختلط مع ألوان أخرى كما في الولايات المتحده ليرمز إلى الوطنيه .. الخ
ويستخدم السجاد الأحمر red carpet لاستقبال الدبلوماسيين لأنه يشعرهم بالإنتماء لذلك البلد كما يقال
وواضح في تسمية الهلال الأحمر red crescent أو الصليب الأحمر red cross
ومع هذا كله فهو موجود في الطبيعه .. وكلنا نعرف الورد الأحمر..
لا تنسوا الفراولة فهي أيضا حمراء
يقابل كل ذلك لون الدم الأحمر الذي يسيل في أوقات البذل والعطاء

وفي اللغة الانجليزية يستخدم في تركيبات تعطي معاني مختلفه
مثلا: paint the town red كما يحدث في هذه الأيام من زحام و تجول في المحلات في أرجاء المدينة..
see red بمعنى أن الشخص يلتهب أو يستشيط غضبا
red heat/red hotبمعنى أنه ملتهب من شدة الحرارة
red-handed بمعنى متلبس بالجريمة

MODAL VERBS generally can be used in many useful ways.
First of all, MODAL VERBS are always followed by the BARE INFINITIVE. (without TO)

For strong obligation, as in a rule, we can use MUST or MUSTN'T, which mean obligation (a must to do something), or a prohibition (not allowed to do something).

Instead, we can use HAVE TO or DON'T HAVE TO, to express necessity or obligation to do something, or for unnecessary actions.

MUST and HAVE TO are very similar in meaning, but MUSTN'T and DON'T HAVE TO are very different.
