A huge thank you to Dr. Maria Kay for the incredible support in recommending the book at the Second International Scientific Conference on the Reality and Prospects of Teaching Methods, which was held in several locations throughout Libya 🇱🇾, including Benghazi, Ajdabiyah, Baida, Derna and Al-Rajmah - 18-23 October 2025.

Dr. Maria talked about the “A Collection of 99 Joyful Activities“ book and recommended it at every single conference. She said many wonderful things about the book and here is one of her most memorable statements “It’s what the teachers need - to get away from chalk and talk.” 💕

Here is another energetic game from the 99 collection. Prepare a list of questions depending on the students’ level. Divide the students into two groups and line them up. Ask the first two students in the queue a question, e.g. “What’s the past simple of drive?” The first one who answers the question moves to the back of the line and the other one is out. Continue asking questions until one of the teams wins.

The writer had the pleasure of conducting a workshop titled "Innovative Teaching Activities and Strategies”, which incorporated some activities from the 99 collection along with strategies adapted from the TESOL Methodology course, at the Libyan International Medical University (LIMU).

We are thrilled with the positive energy and effort shown by all participants, and we hope the session was as beneficial for them as it was for us. Together, we're making a difference in education by teaching with passion. A big thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making this workshop a success. ❤️🤍

titled
“Innovative Teaching Activities,”
led by an experienced instructor, Eman Alshlmani, who has a wealth of credentials.

Eman has been teaching English since 2013. She has a master's degree in applied linguistics, with a thesis focused on the importance of using warm-up activities and games, and their highly positive impact on students’ behavior and achievement levels. She also holds several international certificates in teaching English, including a TESOL certificate from the University of Maryland in the U.S., an IH certificate from the International House World Organization in the U.K., and the three modules of TKT. Additionally, she has published a book, which is a collection of 99 joyful activities.

Eman is passionate about innovative teaching methods, especially the use of games and different types of interactive activities in teaching. We have no doubt that you will enjoy attending this workshop and find it beneficial.

Let's continue to innovate in our teaching methods and make lessons more interactive and accessible. The ball game, from the 99 collection, is a good game to revise multiple language items. For example, to revise the past participle of irregular verbs, throw a ball to a stu- dent and say the infinitive form of a verb. When the student catches the ball, he/she should say the past participle of that verb and then throw the ball back to you. Continue playing in this way until you have been through all the irregular verbs that you want to practice.
