This week, our students joined a porcelain painting workshop - and this is how we learned that they are not only talented linguists learning one of the most challenging languages with us, but also exceptional artists! 🎨✨

Our programs are not only about language. They are about delving into local culture, meeting new people, and exploring yourself. We design our immersive courses in a way that gives students opportunities to meet their local peers, engage in authentic activities, and learn outside the classroom! ✍️📖

Today, our students embarked on a fascinating journey through the historical and architectural marvels of Soviet Riga.

We dove deep into the past, uncovering stories and experiences from the era of Soviet influence. The highlight of our excursion was the breathtaking viewpoint at the Academy of Sciences, one of Riga's iconic Stalinist skyscrapers. From this vantage point, we were able to admire the beauty of the city and reflect on its complex history.

Did you know that similar skyscrapers were built during the Soviet period in various cities including Moscow, Warsaw, Prague, Bucharest, Kyiv, and Sofia? Each of these towering structures tells a unique story about the time they were constructed and the culture they represent.

Through this excursion, our students not only experienced the rich history of Riga but also gained a new perspective on the architectural heritage that shaped many Eastern European cities.
