We are always delighted and excited to welcome new faculty members to our community! We are pleased to introduce you to Mr. Jānis Lazovskis – our new Math lab instructor and assistant to the Data Structures course for the BITL group. Jānis has a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

About himself, he says that he enjoys learning and teaching mathematics. To him, learning mathematics is about discovering new worlds, and teaching is the opportunity to share those worlds with others. Precision, structure, and the potential to clearly express complicated ideas are what motivates and excites him in his everyday work. He also believes in the role of educators as societal gatekeepers, and he strives to put his work in the classroom in this context.
