The RV1Ģ Debate Society is the official debate club of the Riga State gymnasium no.1.
It has a long standing tradition of introducing World Schools debating as a format for discussing regional and global issues concerning politics, economics and more.

Hey everyone!
Today we will have a more “fun” approach to debates - GAME DAY! We have prepared 3 games that will help you enhance your debating skills.
The game “Populist” will teach you how to spot logical fallacies and refute them.
“Saboteur” is going to train your critical thinking skills.
“S #!% Happens” will coach you on evaluating the importance of different impacts.

Prep time is key to winning every debate. Thus, this Thursday at 15:00 we will be addressing the most important questions related to content generation, POIs, and coming up with rebuttal already prior to the actual debate in a workshop about prep time.👀

It's a great honor to introduce the Chair of tomorrow's debate. Although Anete graduated from RV1G five years ago, her debate career did not end in high school. She keeps debating at university level and in her packed schedule somehow even finds time to mentor young debaters from schools all around Latvia. She is perhaps one of the best examples of where debating can take you, so definitely tune into hear what she has to say about the show debate's motion tomorrow at 16:00.👀
