TRUTH4YOUTH in Bucharest, Romania 🇷🇴

A 5-day international training bringing together youth workers and educators from across Europe to explore Living Labs for media resilience. Together, we explored participatory methods, fact-checking, co-creation and practical ways to involve young people in tackling disinformation and strengthening media resilience in their communities. 💚

Two years of Consumo Justo! Together, 5 European partners organised 3 partner meetings and 3 international trainings for 75 youth workers. Local activities involved more than 30 young people, while follow-up training reached over 150 youth workers and multiplier events engaged more than 50 stakeholder organisations. The Consumo Justo App has already reached over 200 users! 📱

Thank you to everyone who contributed to this journey. The project may be closing, but responsible consumption continues with the choices we make every day. 💚

Through the Consumo Justo project, young people from five countries exchanged perspectives on responsible consumption, discussed challenges in their communities, and developed ideas for more sustainable everyday choices. Their voices and local proposals were brought together in the Consumo Justo European Action Plan. 💬🌱

Every year, 4–9% of unsold textiles in Europe are destroyed.

Starting today, that's changing. 🇪🇺

The EU's ban on destroying unsold clothes and shoes officially comes into force today.

Large companies can no longer destroy unsold clothes, shoes, and clothing accessories. Instead, they'll need to:

🛍️ Sell them, including through discounts or alternative markets
💚 Donate them to charities or social enterprises
🔄 Reuse them
♻️ Recycle them

For medium-sized companies, the ban will apply as of 2030.

This ban will prevent wasting valuable products, including the resources and raw materials used to make them, while also reducing their environmental and climate impact.
