Konoha Martial Arts Academy

From May 6 to 11, the 20th European Wushu/Kung Fu Championships took place in the city of Lyon, France 🇫🇷

Our athletes Zlata Tvorogova, Mihails Fiškiss, Edgars Zariņš, and Uļjana Anastasija Lukjanenko represented our academy as part of the National Latvian taolu team.🇱🇻Our coach, Poļina Malahova , also took part in the competition as both team leader and athlete. The team delivered excellent performances and brought two gold and one bronze to Latvia’s medal tally:

Uļjana Lukjanenko: 🥇 (Changquan); 🥇 (Gunshu)
Mihails Fiškiss: 🥉 (Pudao)

This time not all of our athletes managed to reach the podium, but all of them demonstrated a high level and clear progress in their skill. Based on the competition results, every one of our athletes placed in the TOP 5 in at least one of their categories, and we are proud of each of them! 🫶🏻 We will continue to work hard and come back even stronger. ✊🏻

As always, we would like to express huge gratitude to all the parents for their support and belief in us as well as Latvian Wushu Federation 🇱🇻 and our friends and teammates from 🙏🏻

Special thanks to our coach Poļina, who had three (!) roles at this championship. It is incredibly difficult to simultaneously look after the athletes, deal with the organizers, and at the same time prepare mentally for your own performances.
