BANGLADESHI NATIONALS FOR LATVIA

According to the Territorial Competence, Bangladeshi nationals are subjected to apply for a Long Stay visa with the Embassy of Latvia in India.

Under Regulation No 554 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Latvia "Regulations Regarding the States for the Citizens of which in issuing a Visa or Residence Permit an Additional Examination shall be performed", additional examination shall be performed for the citizens of the states specified therein.

Nationals of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, who intend to enter Latvia on study purposes, are subjected to apply for the residence permit at the Embassy of Latvia in India in person. Once the decision by the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs of Latvia on granting rights of residence is made, student can apply for a long stay visa at the Embassy of Latvia in India.

NOTE! Please note that according to the Document Legalisation Law and the Regulations for Public Document Legislation of Latvia documents must be legalised by diplomatic/consular mission of Latvia in the relevant country or by the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, after their authentications by the competent institutions of the relevant country (the foreign ministry or a diplomatic/consular mission of the relevant country). For Bangladeshi nationals a double legalization is in force – documents issues by Bangladeshi authorities must be authenticated by the foreign ministry and High Commission of Bangladesh in India.
