Novikontas team came together to celebrate 20 years of Novikontas operations in Latvia.

Over the years, Novikontas has grown significantly. New projects, facilities, technologies, directions, and opportunities have become part of our everyday life. Yet one thing has never changed: our people.

From the very beginning, we have believed that skills can be developed, but values come first. When welcoming new colleagues, we have always looked beyond CVs and qualifications. We have looked at the person, their attitude, their values, and whether they would become part of our culture.

Perhaps this is why Novikontas has never felt like a company. As Aleksandrs Chropenko often says, “We are a small big family.”

One of our most meaningful traditions is recognising colleagues who have dedicated 20 years of their professional lives to Novikontas. To mark this milestone, they receive a special Montblanc watch. It is a symbol of time, commitment, and loyalty.

Congratulations to our COO, Aleksejs Bogdanecs, on receiving this special award. Aleksejs joined Novikontas when he was just 22 years old. Today, as we like to joke, he is still 22 — just with 20 years of experience at Novikontas.

At Novikontas, growth never stops. There is always a new project, a new challenge, or a new idea waiting around the corner. We often think, “Once this project is finished, we will finally have time to rest.” Yet somehow another exciting project always appears. And that is exactly what makes Novikontas special.

A sincere thank you to our entire team for making today's celebration so memorable. Thank you for your dedication, professionalism, and commitment throughout the years.

And a special thank you to our Executive Chairman, Aleksandrs, for continuing to believe in Novikontas, our team, our ideas, and, most importantly, in people. Your vision and trust have helped shape what Novikontas is today.

Novikontas Academy had the pleasure of welcoming more than 60 managers from shipping companies for an interactive tour of our facilities.

The visit was also an opportunity to reflect on how far Novikontas has come. What started more than 20 years ago with a single simulator on one floor has grown into a comprehensive training and education centre, delivering high-quality courses and practical learning across the maritime, offshore, and energy sectors.

Our guests explored a wide range of training environments, including:
• Safety & Survival facilities
• Advanced Firefighting training areas
• IRATA Rope Access training facilities
• OPITO-certified training facilities
• Virtual Reality (VR) training solutions
• Dynamic Positioning (DP) simulators
• Navigation simulators and laboratories
• Marine Engineering simulators and laboratories

Behind all of this stands an exceptional team. Today, Novikontas works together with more than 250 instructors and industry experts who bring real-world experience from ships, offshore installations, and energy projects directly into the classroom.

Continuous development has always been part of our journey. We keep investing in new technologies, facilities, and learning solutions to ensure that seafarers, offshore professionals, and energy sector specialists receive the knowledge and practical skills needed for today's industry.

A sincere thank you to all our guests for spending the day with us. We also extend our appreciation to everyone who helped make the visit informative, engaging, and memorable.

This spring, the Novikontas Energy Rescue Team represented Latvia 🇱🇻 at Rescue Great Day 2026 in Seville, Spain 🇪🇸.

Competing against 34 teams from 14 countries, they secured 5th place. 🏆

As team leader, Michailas Jelisejenko reflects:

"You never stop learning at competitions like this. That's one of the reasons we keep coming back."

We are proud of the team's performance, professionalism and determination throughout the competition.

A new OEUK Safe Weight Limit Policy is being introduced for offshore workers.

The policy sets a 124 kg clothed weight limit, intended to ensure that every person can be safely evacuated or rescued, particularly during search and rescue (SAR) helicopter winch operations.

The transition phase runs from 1 February to 31 October 2026, with mandatory compliance from 1 November 2026.
