We are pleased to welcome Nicolas Tilly and rest of delegation from the École Supérieure d’Art et de Design d’Orléans (France) to RISEBA to participate in EcoMind’s Creative Lab in collaboration with lead researcher Ieva Gintere (ViA - Vidzemes Augstskola ). The project aims to develop a virtual exhibition of new media art addressing ecological issues while strengthening the digital skills of students and researchers working in the creative industries.

🟦 No Title: a newly launched open creative community, in collaboration with Shipyard AI, RIZZ Productions, LMA, LKA, RISEBA and partners, invites students and lecturers to apply for the No Title Film Creation Festival — a 48-hour film and audiovisual creation festival taking place from 6–9 February in Riga, at Shipyard AI Hackers Space (Barona 30A), with the option to participate remotely as well.
🕺🏼 Participants, working individually or in teams, will create 1–10 minute films, experimenting with contemporary audiovisual practices and AI-driven creative approaches.
👏🏻 Participation is free of charge and open to both beginners and experienced creatives and AI practitioners.

In order to create our desired frames, we’re using every corner of the faculty - from the halls to the kitchens, and even the conference rooms. We’re also training an important skill: not to multitask. If you are the director, you lead the team and assign clear tasks to everyone on set.

RISEBA, in cooperation with the Latvian Social Entrepreneurship Association, is implementing the ERASMUS BIP programme, within which students from Poland, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, and Portugal together with their lecturers visited the Chancery of the President of Latvia 🇱🇻 to explore the country’s cultural heritage and history.

The aim of the Erasmus BIP programme is to educate participants about social entrepreneurship and its role in fostering civic responsibility, regardless of the country they live in.

The Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) is a short-term international initiative that combines on-site and virtual learning, offering students and lecturers the opportunity to broaden their horizons and gain international experience 🌍

A new interdisciplinary co-working space — AI LAB — will soon be available at RISEBA, equipped with state-of-the-art, AI-powered computer systems offering high computing performance and modern audiovisual technology. 🖥️✨

Located at Meža iela 3, the AI LAB is set to expand its accessibility to a 24/7 schedule, a truly unique approach within Latvia’s higher education landscape. This step continues the best practices of RISEBA’s Faculty of Media and Creative Technologies - providing round-the-clock access to laboratories - and extends similar opportunities to students in business, psychology, and other social sciences. 🌟

A particular focus in developing the laboratory has been placed on PhD students and researchers, ensuring professional access to AI solutions and computing power for local data processing. At the same time, users will gain access to over ten leading collections of scientific publications and real-world market data platforms, including extended access to Euromonitor and Statista. RISEBA is among the few universities in Latvia that provide full access to these databases for all students and researchers. 👀
In addition, AI LAB will offer audiovisual content creation tools to support teaching staff in developing modern, interactive teaching methods, integrating AI solutions into both the learning and research process. 🎬

RISEBA University, as the coordinating organization of the Erasmus+ project “Strengthening work force potential in the renewable-energy sector REnForce” (Project ID: 101183074), hosted a large delegation of representatives from Armenia. 🌍

Throughout the training week, participants took part in practical sessions and experience-sharing activities led by experts from Latvia, the Czech Republic, and Belgium.
They also participated in hands-on workshops, discussions, and study visits to Latvia’s solar energy organizations, gaining valuable insights into European best practices in renewable energy education. ⚡️

💼 In parallel with the training, the project partners held a Steering Committee meeting, discussing key topics related to the project’s progress and next steps.
