Why Trauma & Orthopaedics?
I like the mix of anatomy, biomechanics and surgery. I’m also really into bodybuilding, so anatomy, movement and biomechanics have always interested me. Ortho just combines all of that with surgery, problem-solving and a bit of adrenaline.

What part of ortho interests you most right now?
Complex spinal trauma and reconstruction. I like the idea of cases where the anatomy is difficult, the stakes are high and you really have to think several steps ahead, especially when trauma, neurology and surgery all come together.

What’s your go-to coffee order?
Black coffee or cappuccino, depending on how serious the situation is 😭

Song that gets you through exam season?
95.south or hunger.on.hillside, but also any other J. Cole song where he starts dropping bars.

Why Trauma & Orthopaedics?
In a nutshell, ortho is FUN! It just feels right, even the most basic stuff is interesting. Also I’m an athlete, so ortho is the perfect specialty to combine work and play 🏋️‍♀️

What part of ortho interests you most right now?
I like general orthopedics, my ”ortho idol” is a Finnish regional hospital orthopedic surgeon who knows basically everything from head to toe.

What’s your go-to coffee order?
I’m a tea gal but in the autumn I have to get at least one pumpkin spice latte🎃

Songs that gets you through exam season?
My go-to song before every exam is a Finnish classic ”Jippikayjei” by Cheek

Why Trauma & Orthopaedics?
I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about how the body moves, first because I was an athlete, and now because I’m a medical student. So I guess orthopaedics was a pretty natural plot twist. I love the combination of anatomy, biomechanics and surgery, but what really attracts me is the very tangible impact: something is wrong, you figure out why, you fix it, and hopefully you get someone moving again.

What part of ortho interests you most right now?Reconstructive surgery, for sure. I’m fascinated by the idea that sometimes you’re basically solving a very complicated 3D puzzle, except the puzzle is someone’s body and you really want to get it right. I love the combination of surgical technique, biomechanics and creativity involved in restoring both structure and function.

What’s your go-to coffee order?
I’m Italian; obviously, I’ll have a cappuccino.

Songs that gets you through exam season?
I don’t have a specific song, but to focus before an exam, I always listen to the pre-game playlist I used back when I was an athlete.

Why Trauma & Orthopaedics?
I love the mix of surgery, problem-solving and getting things done with your own hands. There’s something so cool about fixing something that’s broken and giving someone a whole new chance at life, especially when that means getting them back to training, moving and doing what they love. 💪

What part of ortho interests you most right now?
Trauma, 100%! Give me a high-energy case, some adrenaline and a problem to solve. I love the challenge of figuring out what’s most urgent, what needs to happen next and, of course, being in the OR. 🚑🩸

What’s your go-to coffee order?
A cappuccino ☕️

Songs that gets you through exam season?
Depends entirely on how the studying is going 😂 House music and rap when I’m feeling productive, and sad songs when the exam is winning. 📚

Why Trauma & Orthopaedics?
Hammers, screwdrivers and nails have been my favourite toys since forever. I guess I was destined for orthopaedics. Plus, I like the idea of being the chill mechanic who can actually fix people — just with a slightly more complicated toolbox.
What part of ortho interests you most right now?
The shoulder. Apparently, one joint can cause an impressive amount of trouble.

What’s your go-to coffee order?
I’m Italian, so… espresso, obviously.

Song that gets you through exam season?
Parachute — because sometimes you just need a little motivation before jumping into another exam.
