Gestern hatten wir das große Vergnügen Bērnu slimnīcas fonds gemeinsam mit unseren Schülersprechern Arina und Timur zu besuchen, um den Scheck mit den Spenden aus unserem ersten Sponsorenlauf zu überreichen. 💛

Wir brachten nicht nur die Spende, sondern auch unsere wärmsten Wünsche und positivsten Gedanken für die Kinder und Familien, die von der BSF unterstützt werden.

Ein herzliches Dankeschön an die BSF-Geschäftsführerin Vineta Vilistere-Lāce für den freundlichen Empfang und die inspirierenden Worte – und an alle, die zu dieser wunderbaren Initiative beigetragen haben! Gemeinsam verbreiten wir Güte und Hoffnung. 🌟

Yesterday we had the privilege of visiting the Bērnu slimnīcas fonds with our school representatives Arina and Timur to deliver the check with the funds raised during our first Charity Run. 💛

We brought not only the donation but also our warmest wishes and brightest thoughts for the children and families supported by BSF.

A heartfelt thank-you to BSF CEO Vineta Vilistere-Lāce for the kind welcome and inspiring words – and to everyone who took part in making this initiative possible! Together, we’re spreading kindness and hope. 🌟

🎃 Halloween-Zauber an der DISR! 🕸️🕷️

Am Freitag verwandelte sich unsere Schule in ein echtes Spukschloss! 👻 Überall flackerten Kürbislichter, flatterten Gespenster und lachten kleine Hexen. ✨
Unser Schulzauberer brachte mit Nebel, Zaubersprüchen und glitzernder Magie alle zum Staunen – und beim Kostümwettbewerb zeigten kleine Vampire, Kürbisse und Superhelden ihre tollen Verkleidungen. 🦇
Zum Abschluss gab’s Pizza und Filmspaß bei unserer Movienight – ein Abend voller Lachen, Magie und Gänsehaut! 💫

🎃 Halloween Magic at DISR! 🕸️🕷️

Last Friday, our school turned into a real haunted castle! 👻 Everywhere, pumpkins were glowing, ghosts were floating, and little witches were laughing. ✨
Our school magician amazed everyone with fog, spells, and sparkling magic – and during the costume contest, little vampires, pumpkins, and superheroes proudly showed off their outfits. 🦇
To end the night, we enjoyed pizza and movie fun at our Movienight – an evening full of laughter, magic, and a little bit of goosebumps! 💫

Das ist Eva – das Herzstück unseres Schulsekretariats 💛
Mit einem Master in Pädagogik und bereits zehn Jahren Erfahrung an der DISR hat sie miterlebt, wie unsere Schule von nur 10 Kindern auf heute über 300 gewachsen ist 🌱.

Besonders am Herzen liegen ihr die engen und vertrauensvollen Beziehungen zu Eltern und Schülern. Für sie ist die schönste Form der Anerkennung ein einfaches, herzliches „Danke“ 🙏.

Abseits der Schule liebt sie es zu reisen 🌍, in Bücherwelten einzutauchen 📚 und kulturelle Veranstaltungen zu besuchen 🎭.



This is Eva – the heart of our school office 💛
With a Master’s degree in Education and already ten years at DISR, she has witnessed our school grow from just 10 children to more than 300 today 🌱.

What matters most to her are the close and trusting relationships with parents and students. For her, the greatest recognition is a simple, heartfelt “thank you” 🙏.

Outside of school, she loves to travel 🌍, dive into the world of books 📚, and attend cultural events 🎭.

With a background in project management and as a trained translator in 4 languages🌍, Sindija is guiding the launch of our International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and coordinating its implementation at our school. Alongside her work with the IB DP, she primarily manages our evening-care and keeps our afternoons running structured and pleasant for the kids. She’s passionate about volleyball 🏐, working out 💪 and enjoying good food 😋

Mit ihrem Hintergrund im Projektmanagement und als ausgebildete Übersetzerin in vier Sprachen 🌍 leitet Sindija die Einführung des International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme und koordiniert dessen Umsetzung an unserer Schule.
Außerdem sorgt sie mit der Abendbetreuung dafür, dass unsere Nachmittage für die Kinder strukturiert und angenehm verlaufen.
Ihre Leidenschaften? Volleyball 🏐, Training 💪 und gutes Essen 😋

This is Vaida, our organizational powerhouse!
With a background as a flight attendant ✈️ and a degree in hospitality management 🍽️, she knows how to keep things running smoothly.
When she’s not organizing daily schedules and coordinating the canteen with our assistants, she’s also guiding our FSJ volunteers.
A big fan of handball 🤾 and all kinds of sports events, Vaida has Lithuanian roots and is absolutely in love with the Baltic region 🌊💛.

Früher war sie Flugbegleiterin ✈️ und hat ein Studium im Gastronomiemanagement 🍽️ abgeschlossen – perfekte Voraussetzungen, um bei uns den Überblick zu behalten.
Sie koordiniert den gesamten Tagesablauf inklusive Kantine mit den Assistent:innen und ist außerdem unsere FSJ-Koordinatorin.
Vaida liebt Handball 🤾 und Sportevents und hat litauische Wurzeln – das Baltikum ist ihr Herzensort 🌊💛.

Wir sind jetzt offiziell eine anerkannte Deutsche Auslandsschule! 🎉
Am Dienstag war es endlich soweit – wir durften unsere Anerkennung feierlich ausrichten!

This is Anja Wilfling, our new Head of Primary. For the past four years, she has called the desert in Saudi Arabia her “happy place”. Whether it’s hiking and climbing through wild canyons or galloping on horseback across the endless sand dunes – adventure is always part of her life. 🐪🌵🐎

Das ist Anja Wilfling, unsere neue Grundschulleiterin. Ihr „Happy place“? Die Wüste in Saudi-Arabien – beim Wandern in Canyons oder beim Reiten durch die Sanddünen. Versucht mal, ihr beim Klettern hinterherzukommen – keine Chance! 💪🧗‍♀️

Today we celebrated the beginning of the new school year at the German International School of Riga – a joyful start full of smiles and new beginnings! 🎈🎉
