This week, our Master’s students are stepping into one of the most important milestones of their academic journey – thesis defense.

Across the week, students from our Professional MBA and Executive MBA programs are presenting the results of months of research, analysis, and hard work, tackling real business and leadership challenges with fresh ideas and practical insights.

Riga Business School was honoured to welcome Professor Chimumoyo Baya from the National University of Science and Technology, Zimbabwe, to Riga Technical University as part of the Erasmus+ KA171 Staff Mobility framework.

This visit builds on a relationship that began through the Latvian development cooperation project "She Rebuilds the World", a pioneering initiative connecting Latvia with African partners through education, entrepreneurship, and institutional cooperation. Riga Business School served as the main Latvian education partner in the project.

During the visit, Professor Baya engaged with the Riga Business School and RTU community through academic meetings, participation in bachelor thesis defence panels, institutional collaboration discussions, and exchanges on curriculum development, quality assurance, AI in teaching and research, and future joint initiatives. The program also included a courtesy meeting with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, where participants discussed expanding academic exchange, research collaboration, cultural and educational diplomacy, and future Latvia–Zimbabwe partnerships.

We are especially proud that this collaboration is now creating direct opportunities for students: the first five students from NUST are participating in an exchange programme at Riga Technical University.

For Riga Business School, this partnership reflects the kind of internationalisation we believe in: learning from each other, building long-term trust, and connecting the North and the South through education, innovation, and shared responsibility.

We thank Professor Chimumoyo Baya, the National University of Science and Technology, Riga Technical University, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, and all colleagues involved in making this collaboration grow.

We look forward to continuing this partnership through student and staff mobility, joint academic initiatives, research collaboration, and new opportunities for mutual learning.

Exactly one week ago, the JA Latvia project "TechTrack" officially came to a close. As the name suggests, the program focused on technology, innovation, and the power of ideas.

Throughout the program, youth teams from across Latvia worked on developing and implementing innovative solutions, gained valuable knowledge and experience, and competed for the main prize.

At Riga Business School, we were truly honored to be part of this journey from the very beginning until the final, participating in workshops, sharing our expertise, and contributing to the growth of ambitious young minds.

We are proud to support the next generation of changemakers, and we believe this is only the beginning of something even greater.

The new edition of the Foreign Investors' Council in Latvia (FICIL) Sentiment Index has been released, and we at Riga Business School are proud to have contributed to this important research and dialogue on the future growth and competitiveness of Latvia and the Baltic region.

The study brings together perspectives from foreign investors in Latvia and researchers across all three Baltic States, exploring topics such as innovation, competitiveness, investment climate, and stronger collaboration between academia and industry.

A special thank you to Claudio Rivera for the significant work and contribution invested in this research initiative.

The findings will be presented during the high-level event “Beyond Borders: Investment & Innovation in the Baltics” on May 28, bringing together policymakers, investors, researchers, and innovation leaders from across Europe and the Baltics.
