๐งช๐ฑ Lynxes Visit a Biodiesel Factory
The Lynxes recently went on an exciting field trip to a biodiesel factory! One of the IMSOL parents โ a scientist working in the biodiesel industry โ kindly invited our students to visit the factory and learn more about how biodiesel is produced. ๐โ๏ธ
During the visit, the children explored the fascinating science behind alternative fuel and discovered some of the chemistry processes involved in creating biodiesel. Through hands-on experiences and demonstrations, complex ideas became much easier to understand โ and much more exciting! ๐ฌโจ
The students shared that the trip was both educational and a lot of fun. And to make the day even more special, everyone enjoyed pizza together at the end of the visit. ๐๐

Learning about trash segregation โป๏ธ๐
Our Daisies class recently went on a field trip around the local community to learn more about trash segregation and caring for the environment ๐ฑ
During the excursion, children explored the streets near the school and the Rimi supermarket area, where they observed different kinds of trash containers and discussed how people use them in everyday life ๐๐ฎ
The students practiced observation skills, talked about recycling and sustainability โป๏ธ, and reflected on how each of us can help keep our community clean and environmentally friendly ๐ฟ
The children also enjoyed a small picnic at Vฤsturdฤrzs Park ๐งบ๐ณ before returning to school, making it a wonderful combination of learning, exploration, and time together outdoors โ๏ธ

๐จโจ Learning beyond the classroom
This week, we visited the National Latvian Museum of Art โ and turned it into an adventure.
Instead of simply walking through the galleries, the children took part in a fun quest ๐
They explored the museum with curiosity, searching for specific artworks, observing details, and connecting what they saw with what they already know.
It wasnโt just about looking at paintings โ it was about discovery, attention, and thinking.
Learning like this stays longer ๐ก

Learning Together ๐โจ
Last week, our senior students from the Lynxes class (ages 9โ12) visited the Otter Class (ages 6โ9) to share their knowledge and confidence through student-led presentations.
They spoke about influential people in history, including Sacagawea, Marie Curie, and Galileo Galilei. ๐๐ฌ
It was a wonderful moment of collaboration, where older students practiced research, public speaking, and leadership, while younger students listened, asked questions, and got inspired.
These shared learning experiences help build confidence, curiosity, and a strong sense of community across our school ๐
